For me, Mannie is their best flyhalf, it's his goal kicking that is concerning. It looks like they're going to go for tries during the first half and settling with shot at goal during the second half. One might see lots of cross-field kicks to avoid England's rushed defense.

It is clear, respectfully, that a test flyhalf and an entertainer are not the same thing, Manie I a show ponie and Pollard is a stallion. The new generation loves a show ponie, but the knowledgeable appreciates the finer details embodied in a classic flyhalf. I hope you enjoy Manie, and it says it all that you need a proper flyhalf to correct the mistakes made by the man without BMT.

I think too much emphasis is being placed on Libbok's kicking to poles. To say that Saturday's game is "make or break" for him is simply not true, and places unnecessary pressure on him. Pollard's game against Scotland was rated as "average" by several commentators. Just let Libbok play his game and continue to set the Bok backline alight, which he does best.

It's not make or break for Manie. He is the 3rd choice flyhalf in SA at the moment. 2nd choice until Sacha is back. We know we are going to rotate this team over the next 3 years, and so I am sure he will continue to get game time until another comes in to take that 3rd spot from him. The lad can play, and once he sorts out his kicking he will be just fine.

I would suggest to you that Pollard is now the Boks 3rd choice flyhalf. Manie is no1, fighting for that position with Sasha when he returns. If Pollard was considered no 1, he would have started this game. My opinion anyway.

Manie is such an exciting 10, but he kicks like my ouma. Take that pressure off him. Yes, Sacha is in the pipeline, but also start grooming some other stalwarts with a copy-book kicking technique. You can't run onto an international pitch without a specialist kicker.

Yeah, i think a lot of people are blinded by his poor kicking at the posts, that they completely miss his play making and distribution. He really has that ability to light up that back line. His out of hand kicking is pretty good as well. Who remembers that no look kick pass to Kolbe in the rugby championship. Give him time and he will become better at kicking the conversions. And having that friendly competition with Sasha is awesome. Sasha is great as well. Let them push each other and everyone wins.

Nobody is blinded by his inability to kick posts. He is a hell of an attacker, but with the rest, he is at least two strides behind Sacha and Pollard. Especially defence. Add to that the fact that the other two can kick, and that is why he is 3rd choice. I would not say that he is a bad flyhalf. He is really good. Much better than Jantjies for example. But he is not on the same level as the other two, and that is why I would always prefer Pollard/Sacha to Libbok.

@@puttypoef - Ii think Sasha has a long way to go, yes, he is a brilliant talent but still immature. I think by 2027 he will be our #1 choice flyhallf but he needs to be put in the pressure cooker for a while before I put him before Libbok. Manie was instrumental in getting us through to the semi-finals in 2024 with some incredible performances under heavy pressure. I agree defensively he needs to improve but his out-of-hand plays and passing ability is next level. He has a laser-pass as a pivot that has put many a player into space and scoring tries.. Pollard in the gold-standard both Manie and Sasha have a long way to go to reach his mental and physical level.

This is incredibly exciting. Snyman has th best offensive output of the, anytime he is paired with Eben is dynamite. Also, without De Klerk, Reinarch is the best. However, Williams doe shave better settled disposition. Libbok is good, but just not for kicking duties......there is no set requirement..remember Percy! Even Ox for kicks over Libbok
