Ratana sutta 21 Time (English) रत्न सुत्त 21 बार (अंग्रेजी)

In the past there was a great famine in Vishala Kandy. People started dying due to scarcity of food. The bodies were removed from the city. Inhumans entered the city from the stench of corpses. So they started dying more and more. Due to that, a terrible disease called 'Ahivataka' occurred. Thus the people of Vishala Kandy, who were afflicted by the threefold fear of evil, inhumanity and disease, informed the kings about this. The kings gathered the people in the Santhagara hall. The kings asked if there was anything wrong. The residents replied that there was nothing wrong with them.
After a long discussion, they came to the decision that if the Tathagata visited this city, all the dangers would be removed. With the consent of King Bimbisara, two Lichchavi kings approached the Buddha and said, Blessed Lord, it would be good for us if the Blessed One visits our city for the sake of the health of the people of Aparata who are suffering from three kinds of fear.
The Tathagata accepted the invitation and thought that by reciting the commandments of the Ruwan Sutra, one hundred thousand people would be protected and a large number of people would understand the Dharma. At the same time, the blackened maha megha (great rain) washed away the corpses and floated to Ganganam river. The city was cleansed. As soon as they entered the vast city where about five hundred Buddhas were enshrined, Sak Devidudu and the great deities came. With their arrival, the Inhumans gradually left.
The Tathagata spoke the Ratana Sutra to Ananda Thera from the gate of Vadara city and said to Ananda, after learning this Ratana Sutra and bringing the sacrificial materials, he walked around the three walls of the great city of Vishala with the Lichchavi princes and said to Piritha.
Ananda thero also took pirit wine to the bowl of the Lord Buddha and spread the pirit wine to the whole city, saying the Ratana Sutra. All the Inhumans fled. The city was fortified. The danger was over. Humans were happy. A thousand suvasu (eighty four thousand) beings became Dharmabhisamaya (realized the Dharma). The Buddha recited the Ratana Sutra on the second day. At the same time, another thousand living beings became enlightened. In this way, the Ratana Sutra is recited for seven days respectively.
