The only thing I didn't like about all of the new game's villains is that we barely see them; the game pretty much exclusively follows the heroes, and leaves it to the (fairly mediocre) film to flesh out the villains. Nonetheless, I understand what you're saying about Drek; here he was a ruthless businessman who was willing to poison the entirety of his own race just to get rich, whereas in the remake he's more of a bumbling fool whose genuine aim is to return the Blarg to glory, making him easy to manipulate by Nefarious.

I was inspired by Oneyplays videos of them playing a Rift Apart, so I decided to start at the very beginning with Ratchet and Clank on the PS2 for the first time a couple weeks ago. Today, I just beat the game...It was really fun and very challenging, even as a an adult. I loved the character progression, the voice acting and the cartoony sense of humor. I might pick up the second game too. But for now, I'm going to savor the adventure I just had. Thanks for reading.

Drek's plan was really stupid: all that machinery, all those mercenaries, and all those experiments could not have been cheap, and the same goes for the pollution. Even if his scheme did succeed, he'd lose more money than he stood to gain.

Use devistator and blaster, when the devastator runs low, use blaster, dodge all his attacks, don't waste ammo in his mines and robot things, aim only for him. You'll find after the devisator runs out and you're using blaster that he breaks crates which give you more devistator ammo and more blaster ammo. Its about endurance, when you run out, keep dodging until he breaks enough crates to restock your ammo. Focus primarily on dodging, worry about attacking second, hope this helps.

Bladex2105 On Orxon, once running through the Ratchet section, the door to the original tunnel which you go through with clank opens up, inside, if you explore I think there is a path only ratchet can take, you'll find it there. It was a long time ago so I can't remember exactly what it looks like, but its there somewhere. It'll cost bolts though to upgrade health. The upgrade from 4 nanotec to 5 (Premium nanotec) isn't too expensive, but from 5 to 6 (Ultra nanotec) costs a lot. Forgot to mention, it will take the form of a vending machine with a screen on it, center of the screen is a large N.

Something I never understood was why did they destroy Drek's new planet? Like I get that he's there and blasting it also finishes him off, and that the planet didn't have any inhabitants yet, and that it was made by destroying other worlds, but why blow it up? A planet is a planet. People could have used that world. It just seems like overkill.

Wow all you guys really suck at this game? As a R&C nerd all you have to do is fly forward with the helipack while shooting him with the tesla claw. Just ignore all his attacks except the ''jump over flame'' ones obviously.

It's a pretty good final boss all things considered. Each stage has new attacks to keep you on your toes. First stage is just the rockets when you are playing as clank. Second stage adds the bombs which require a bit more timing to dodge when compared to the missles that just require you to move. Third stage adds the mines, so you can't just focus all your attacks on Drek. Final stage is the real boss fight with no cuts and the majority of the health. Has those mini agents of doom that you can't just avoid like the mines since these things chase you from the get go. Then he has the charge attack when you stop the planet detonation. When you get his health low enough, he will use long range cannon attack (not used by him here). Then, at the very last sliver of health, he uses those flying dart mines all over the map to give you another thing to worry about. Overall, I think what really is great about this boss fight is all the different ways you have to dodge Drek's attacks, and the options in fighting him. You can use the suck cannon to absorb all of those mines and agents of doom; you can use the tesla coil to easily clear the mines and agents of doom so that your devastator will only hit drek. You can probably do this entire boss fight on the grind rails and not have to worry about most of the attacks, but also be the furthest away from the detotanotor.

The third one is by far the most difficult, henceforth I'll most likely die in the third stage. Why the fuck do I have to repeat the first two stages?? It fuckin sucks and they should have included a checkpoint so that the player doesn't have to start all over again. That's just time theft.

The Tesla gun helped me so much in this fight. I had a tough time back in 2002 & a tough time with this boss in 2019 on HD collection on PS3. If you're careful & use the right weapons, he's not too bad. But I remember losing my patience as a kid & getting pissed off, especially after falling to my death because game does not pause in weapon wheel.

It would seem that I am going to have to grind away for the Tesla Claw. To this day I have played all of the Ratchet and CLank games including the new Remake, and I am sad but unashamed to admit that I have still NEVER beaten Chairmen Drek (despite having beaten the other games). To those who claim this is an easy boss: I applaud your skill, because frankly the difficulty level for me and from what I can tell a fair majority of players, was simply amped to the max. I also will defend that this was NOT an easy boss. While I am sure those who took the time to grind away for the RYNO or for Mass bolts using the PDA to refill ammo during the fight found the fight to be easy, I simply do not think he was inherently easy especially during the final stretch of his third phase (Just WAY too much dodging and no great way to get up close when you only have the Devastator as your hard hitter). I am currently attempting to replay the HD remake on PS3 and am once again stuck on Drek. have certainly come close (maddeningly, like last health bar, level of close). Still outside of grinding away on the Hoverboard races or re-visiting worlds to farm for bolts, I just can never afford the Claw, let alone the RYNO. Still I applaud those who can or have been able to beat him, hopefully I can join those ranks at least once!

Eventually I'm going to be uploading my special playthrough of this game soon, and I manage to beat Drek with only four nanotech, the Acid Bomb Glove (The Gold weapon upgrade, and it returns in Ratchet and Clank Size Matters as a weapon.), the Tesla Claw, and doing the Thruster Pack thrust technique even more than you did Benjamin.

I finished this boss last night and took 3 hours to get 150,000 bolts for the R.Y.N.O but the most scariest thing happened while fighting him. when he spawns the microbots I would use the suck cannon to suck them up and shoot them back at him, then get stuck like that and some orange thing will be stretched across the screen and i can't see THEN there will be one microbot chasing me. It turns invisible and when i get close it turns light red with dark red wires all over it's body that look like veins and it won't die!!!! oh my god i was scared for life, has anyone else encountered this ungodly glitch?

Man,this is the most epic boss in ratchet anc clank series,Nefarius its unbalance AF and you can only kill him with megacorp weapons,Lord vorzelon its also hard when playing brutal,Vox from deadlocked its also hard but Drek doesn't have difficult changes,its just the way he is

The ammo crates are never there when I need them, it's completely random from what I can tell whether or not they spawn in and its so fucking frustrating!! Like why the fuck couldn't they make it so the ammo crates are there every time? Its not even a fair challenge when there's NO FUCKING AMMO. Its ridiculous. Even if you buy ammo from the vendor before you fight him you'll end up running out of ammo really quickly and then you are fucked. Like how hard is it to think of having the crates there every time? Its so fucking simple and I have no idea how that went over their heads. Fuck this boss battle

Anime Dad I'm pretty much having this exact issue right now. Doesn't matter if you restart, leave and come back, it's random if you get the ammo crates, and it's too expensive to keep buying via the PDA.

***** The ammo you buy via the PDA is way more expensive: 20 Devastator ammo costs 2000 bolts, and 200 Blaster ammo costs the same - 2000 bolts.

For those who can't finish this level!!!! Use a devastaor, visi bomb or the blaster, when those have run out buy more using the gadgetron Pda its a shop where you can buy more weapons where ever you are, without the need of the shop near your ship . You will find it in one of the planets finish all your missions for goodies!!!

This boss is a lot harder than I remember it being. Playing the PS3 HD version..looks like I need to backtrack and buy the Tesla Claw. Have come close a few times without it, but just can't quite get him
