Because the new composer's music is a joke. It's all just generic orchestral shit. When I listen to this soundtrack, it's so full of heart and soul and it's so intrinsically linked to the core identity of Ratchet and Clank, when I listen to the new soundtrack from the new games I feel a disconnect. Here's a thing. I've never played any Ratchet and Clank game in my life. I've heard the name a few times, but never played it. Until my cousin told me that Ratchet and Clank Remake is free on PS4 (We can't pay with dollars) So I downloaded it and played the whole game, and I liked it. Being the first game of R&C that I've ever played, I loved it and had fun. But then I wondered how was the original game? So I took a look at the original game on ps2, and oh lord. The levels, the interactions, the characters... Did I really miss such game? The original is looking so much better to me, and I wish I could try it. SO much cutted content that I didn't know about. But above all, the music. I can barely remember any ost from the remake, it's pretty forgetable being just space themed songs, while on the other hand, the original has songs that got stuck in my head even with just listening to it once. And I'm so excited to have the chance of playing the original soon

Usually remakes are the same game but with "upgraded" graphics, the PS4 release is a completely new game thats loosely based on the PS2 version. I wouldn't quite go that far, it is however some of the most fitting music of any game Part of the reason i dont like the later games as much is quite simply just Their soundtracks have nowhere near the charm and excitedness the original trilogy has. When David retired after deadlocked it really did shake up the series. They never found anyone who could match his pure genius

@@KyunaCookies David actually retired after Quest for Booty. He did the soundtracks for the PSP games, Tools of Destruction and QfB, although he took a different approach with the style. The PS2 games will always be unmatched in soundtrack.

Nah fk it, I actually would go that far. His music is a rare coming together of all these great ingredients totally unique to him and that time. You won’t hear anything like it again. It’s the culmination of the early 2000’s cultural movement: funky breakbeat, Y2K techno electronica and jungle, even simply the old computer sounds and the production software he must have used. Just perfect.

I barely played the first Ratchet and Clank when I was a little kid, and I didn't get very far. I wasn't really into the series until I got a little bit older, and by that point in time I was more into Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. it's a very situational weapon. i usually use it in conjunction with the mine glove or glove of doom. also useful for getting melee enemies close to ledges where you can safely wrench-toss them to death
