Lovely. The photos of the flying boat anchored just yards away from an island's pristine white beach are incredible. The stuff of fantasy.

Tremendous video and very well edited! I really appreciate the effort gone into this. There are many noticeable (to me) aspects such as the music being faded out and the aircraft sounds faded in during the take-offs and landings (often not catered for on many flying videos) and the still shots aren't flashed through too quickly like often happens. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 for overall composure and presentation (10 out of 10 would have been with some internal cabin and cockpit footage, probably the only thing missing). Thanks for making it and posting!

Man to own one of these would be a dream... it’s a dream of mine to go on a trip around Australia in one. Hopefully one day I’ll find an owner or company that’ll make that a reality

An Aussie company is bringing the Albatross back into production.

Rotary engine to turboprop is pretty sweet.

What is the maximum wave-height this can take? The Albatross, which is much more capable, but twice as costly to operate, can operate in 4ft waves without assistance and in 10ft waves with a jet-assisted takeoff.

Thomas Laux: because there a landing strips all over the world now-the time of those beautiful Flying Boats is gone forever...there are newer design for fun sport on the market called "seaplanes"...

Everything I know of now is a 2-6 seater light sport (amphipious) aircraft. Most is small Rotax engines. Three that I can think of off the top of my head are the Icon A5, MVP Aero, and Seabear L-65. I personally wouldn't mind having a Seabear, twin engine flying boats just look better plus it has way more range and load capacity than the other two for around the same price.

I think that the Grumman amphibians were very attractive and versatile. The Albatross, Mallard and Widgeon all had eye catching lines. That Mallard was in my opinion the most proportional. I tend to be more partial to the radial powered Mallard. I guess that’s the traditionalist in me.

So I’m going to buy one of these and live in it and travel the world so is it ok if I land my plane on a island (in the water obviously) and stay the night there and then go to the next place?
@shanedimon86522 жыл бұрын
Also does it need 2 people to operate or can I just use it

Texaco used to own at least 4 Mallards at one time. They were converted to turbine power. They sold them all at some point. Any idea what happened to them?

Because people are afraid of getting a copy right strike and there is way more copy righted music than DMR free music that fits certain video types.
