Our Ratib is like an iron wall for every city in which it is recited. ~ Imam Abdullah HaRat Ibn Alawi al-Haddad (R.A.) Ratib Al-Haddad, composed by the great Yemeni scholar and saint Imam Abdullah ibn Alawi al-Haddad (1044-1132 AH), is a spiritual treasure that has been cherished for centuries. Rich in Qur’anic verses, Prophetic traditions, and litanies of praise and glorification, it is a profound supplication that connects the heart to the Divine. This timeless practice is not merely a recitation but a sacred means of seeking Allah's blessings, mercy, and guidance. Through its words, countless Muslims have found solace, protection, and spiritual elevation. Imam Al-Haddad, with his deep insight into human nature and spiritual needs, compiled this supplication to establish a regular practice of dhikr (remembrance of Allah). It calms the restless heart, purifies the soul, and brings light into the lives of its reciters. The Ratib is known to protect from harm and evil influences, while also inviting barakah (divine blessings) into the lives of those who approach it with sincerity. Its recitation fosters unity among believers, purifies the heart, and strengthens one’s faith. Hazrat Yahya Pasha Sahib, one of the distinguished Sufi masters in India, held the Ratib Al-Haddad in the highest regard. His Zaawiya (spiritual center) became a sanctuary of devotion, where the Ratib was recited with deep sincerity and reverence. For decades, this spiritual practice has been illuminating the lives of his followers and descendants Following in his footsteps, one of his descendants, Hazrat Sayeed Baba saheb (may Allah preserve him) has carried forward this sacred tradition, inspiring his murids to make the Ratib an integral part of their spiritual lives. The recitation of the Ratib Al-Haddad creates a sacred spiritual atmosphere. It allows individuals to immerse themselves in the remembrance of Allah, strengthening their connection with the Divine.
