Hey jeff, I appreciate the effort on making this video, but I wanted to give my feedback that I don't feel like I learned much. The point here is to learn how to follow your "don't buy trash" advice, but if everything is trash, then what am I rolling for? Because I'm pretty sure with 5 units on board, a sixth one should be better than 3 rolls. Also, standard curve is 3 on 5, and most of the 3drops have a window of 4-5. If that's the case, I think you should have leaded the video with the remark that "you dont go standard curve because if do you, you'll be buying trash". And given that the turns are so strict, then it seems like level should've had some remarks on this video. Like if I go 3 on 3, then i have no board, so on 4 and 5 i have to buy stuff, and whichever stuff i have available, so probably 1 trash within this patterns. Then I could level on 6, but on 7 I'll be buying trash again because there are no 4 drops that are good on turn 7. Later units are either good in general and I can always get them, like tethys, or I must have rolled their synergy on turn 4-5, otherwise I don't have a setup for them. And what if I open up a setup shop in a turn, then is it trash? Like, turn 3, shop gives me the 1/4 and the demon that protects. Is it trash to sell to buy both? Beatboxer requires setup for you to buy. Is this setup 1 utility drone? 2 magnetic in hand/shop? Laborer in the board? 1 mechademon in hand? Of course goldrin is trash if I have no other beasts. That part was obvious. What do i need for it not to be trash? 1 mechahorse? Titus? Macaw? At least 3 cards with a strong synergy with it, or maybe just 1? Rock rock needs synergy. But in this case, synergy isn't elementals: its gold generation. I feel like for some cards, this might have been mentioned. I know that giving all this information would make the video longer and a lot more work for you, and perhaps even some people wouldn't see it all. But telling me that leroy doesn't need synergy and choral is synergistic is kinda worthless: anyone could figure that by reading the card. You don't need to have played a single match from battlegrounds since season 1 to read and know that. If you needed to be so brief as to say synergistic or not synergistic, at least instead of a boolean, you could've given a number: the amount of synergy cards needed to be okay to buy. Not that it would be totally accurate, as it depends on the strength of the synergy (like, single goldrin with mechahorse is probably okay, while goldrin, macaw and titus, despite being 3, makes for a really weak synergy without additional beasts), but would give at least better information. Like right now, if I'm playing murlocs, I buy choral, if not, I don't buy, which is exactly the same level of knowledge I had prior to the video. I appreciate all your videos, and I'm glad for your attempt on passing down your knowledge. On the other guides, I felt great, like I learned a lot. On this one, not really, and I get that this is a much harder topic. Perhaps not getting a review on every card, but showing screenshots of board states with shops and discussing the right play. After all, don't buy trash is a great directive for your plays, but the real objective isn't to not buy trash, but rather to gain MMR. Thanks if you read it all

I agree with each of the points you made here. I had a couple other pieces of feedback concerning just the watchability of the video. Granted without some of the changes you mentioned, these would probably be wasted effort. There are no chapters for... Even the tiers of cards. With more analysis, a chapter per card might even make sense. The main pain point that is exacerbated by the lack of chapters is that scrubbing the video to reach the card you're wanting to review is laborious. To go along with this, sometimes there would be a cutaway to a zoomed in section of the screen as he was trying to highlight the card he's talking about, but then it would show two cards. It would be better (with or without chapters) if either a graphic of the card being talked about is shown, or if the card was just being clicked on from that card library. Simply hovering over them doesn't bring a whole lot of visual clarity. However, if this video is the format/level of information being kept going forward, then it might as well have just been put into a tier list so people actually have something visual to help remember the ratings easier. I mean, sure, the community could also do this with a bit of effort/time, but the dissemination of it might not be as effective as it would if it were just baked into the presentation.

A lot of these 4/5 drops are mentioned as needing by turn 5-6. Which means you go 4 on 5 which is pretty much the fastest you can realistically go to tavern 4. Then you have to immediately find that card. Otherwise you have to triple. I understand that turn 4-6 is absurdly important in the current meta but there must be more wiggle room than this. Do you have to go 4 on 5 because unless you hit that next turn placement drops rapidly.

You can go 4 on 4 some games (i.e. swabbie start). You don't necessarily want to force it but I think the idea is that it's better to aggressively level than buy cards with low power or potential

I was gonna comment something on this, I'm glad someone did it first. I'd also like to add regarding 3 drops. Standard curve is you go 3 on 5 and the huge majority is the window is 4-5. So that means you should never play the standard curve? Because that seems like a direct conclusion, and also a very important remark for the whole video, since the point is getting people to not buy trash, but if you don't buy your turn 1 thinking you will sell it on 3 to level, you'll be buying trash on 5 regardless because there won't be not-trash options in the pool. Even if you go 3 on turn 4, you need to buy 2 3 drops on 5, the ones the game gave you, that will be defining for your build because you can never buy any other 3 drops since its too late for any of them, and most of the 5-6 drops are trash alone. And I'm sure there are 4 and 5 drops here where jeff means "tripling into it is great, but if you level to get it, its probably going to be too late for the card". But I can't tell the difference, because if I could, I probably wouldn't be watching a video on tierlist to not buy trash.

@@PBMsmite what is forcing, though? Because the information available to you is only the swabbie start and your current shop. Not forcing means you do that only if your shop is bad? I ask because 4 on 4 means you're probably getting a 5 loss streak, which would add up like 2 + 3 + 5 + 9 (6) + 9. And then you have 4 units and must win. Perhaps forcing depends on your opponents, you, whether you can not lose so hard with this, your armor, etc?

So, what I gathered from this video is that your comp starts on Tavern 4 and you can round it out and make it more OP on Taverns 5 & 6. Mainly because just about every Tavern 5 & 6 star minion required something from Tavern 3 or 4 to be viable. So I wonder if I should just use my triples on Tavern 3, rather than hyper taverning for the 5 or 6 star reward?

One thing I still struggle with is to identify if stats are applied permanently or not. Sometimes it says "permanently" and "this turn" so it's obvious, but most of the time it just says something like +1/+1 and there it's sometimes permanent and sometimes not..

If it gets buffed during combat, it's temporary unless it says "permanently", if it gets buffed during shop phase it's permanent unless it states other wise or if it's a spellcraft.

I feel a bit confused when you talk about lvl3 units and you say for most of them, they're only okay turn 4-5. But don't you level to tavern 3 on 4-5 usually ? Does this mean that you just skip most of the stuff unless you're 3 on 3 ? Otherwise really informative, thank you

He's telling you that you shouldn't buy them without synergy and then try to buy all the synergies. You'd be surprised how much low MMR players do that sort of thing. Low MMR players LOVE buying a synergistic unit without synergy, and then try to force that synergy.

There's a gap I've seen in these videos, and knowledge I've received from other streamers doesn't bridge it in my eyes. How do I know when I'm going for X comp? You say a lot of "only buy this if you have the comp," but at no point are you saying "congratulations on finding this card, you now have a comp." I assume the age old advice of 3-4 tier 1 & 2 murlocs doesn't mean you're playing murlocs holds true. So how do I transition? I'd usually wait for one of these 5-6 drops, but should I be forcing something better?

I don't understand your turns information at all. How can you already be tier 5 on turn 7? If I upgrade that high, I'll just get eaten up because the others are scaling. So for me, and I'm at 6000 MMR, that's unfortunately nothing. Obviously it works in your rank because everyone goes up like that. With my MMR, I come last if I level up that quickly.

OK, so, never buy any 3-drops, got it. Most of the time I lvl up turn 5 to tavern 3, and according to Jeff, it is the last turn to buy them. So, buy only 2-tier drops on turn 6, no 3-tier minions

So many bad cards in the game right now, and like 2-3 good cards of every tier. Wish they would change this, because right now it just seems like certain cards are just better in every way than other cards. There is synergy in lots of cards, but without enablers they are just trash. Seeing this list it just seems like so many bad cards or "trash" cards exist while 2 cards of every tier are instant buys and these are the people who win that pull them on then 5-7

@@jamiepilkington5298 A couple weeks ago was a patch that was supposed to remove Kindly Grandmother, Sly Raptor and Gentle Djinni and add Manasaber, Rat Pack and Lil'Rag (with cahnges). They managed to remove the wanted minions but only add Manasaber. It was only recently that the other two got added as well. Therefore they didn't quite yet updated the list on the website. It does already have Manasaber and other changes so it's actually decent. He could have remembered that and manually added them to his video I guess. Hard to say when exactly he was recording this video and giving his internship I guess he has a lot do to atm.
