A quick note about the Dark Gaia bossfight, you mentioned you wished Super Sonic would take it on directly and you actually DO get to 1v1 Dark Gaia in the PS2 and Wii version of Unleashed and it can be quite difficult, but it's really good

What I’m upset about is that in SA2 boss if you stay alive long enough(4 minutes+) you can see the ark and sonic/shadow catch on fire from the atmosphere while the characters on the ark getting more and more desperate for them to win. Too bad you can beat it in a minute

Tiny correction, the Death Egg Robot takes 12 hits and not 16, which is still a lot, but once you figure out how to play aggressively, it goes by fast

I don't think you got how the fight against metal overlord works: you need to use sonic's rocket accel for the blue laser shots, tails' tornado shoot for the missiles and knuckles' punches for the massive airships metal throws at you. The gameplay demands you to use the right formation at the right time like it always does

The best part of Frontiers boss fights is the actual impact of Super. Like damn...all his fights went from flying,dashing,hitting through something or someone...But Frontiers with its combat mechanics has it! The feeling you get from Sonic powered by emeralds, beating the crap out of giant bots, with sick as hell music? Yeah this is peak super for me.

Although Heroes final boss isn't the most engaging you didn't give it enough credit. You actually do need to use all characters to fight the boss effectively. Sonic counters the blue projectiles, tails thundershoot counters the freeze missiles and knuckles can punch the egg fleet ships he throws at you

Sonic Forces OST is the only thing I feel like that game got right. Battle Against the Death Egg Robot is one of favorite because it has 3 phases and compliments the characters perfectly, and is a great third part to Dark Gaia p2 and Nega Armor p2.

The 2D pixelated boss from the 90s with mid graphics and 0 dialogue manages to out do most of the 3D modern bosses. This truly shows how epic 2D sonic is and even tells a story more engaging and immersive than most 3D sonics with more dialogue and budget. Sonic 3 and Knuckles is a masterpiece.

The End is still the final boss of the main story, it didn't get outright replaced or anything. So it's not like its outdated or anything. I've also been working on this video months before Update 3 was even coming out, I decided to release it before the update to be a kind of time capsule because I expected them to replace the original final boss.

16:30 this is a shame, given that the boring version is on the main console, while the hand held version of this fight is way more unique, fun, and has more energy behind the fight, as eggman in the hand held version begins to increase in power the more damage he takes making his atacks stronger, with him even saying one of my fav lines hes ever said, " im sick of you getting in my way *EVERY, SINGLE, TIME* " , the hand held even has a gard mode version of the fight where eggman uses even more power later on to power his atacks, its an fun and dificult fight, miles ahead of the main version

I think its a little nice that in some games, you can really use Super Sonic, showing that Sonic without the chaos emeralds can still be powerful, and really, I dont think milking Super is a good thing.

If you ever do a part 2 with spin-offs you should also include the games that had different boss fights on different hardware as they were essentially different games. Sonic unleashed has a really good dark gaia fight, colours ds has a super sonic fight and generations 3ds has a WAY better time eater fight that actually lets you beat it as both classic and modern and best of all not voice lines about the homing shot.

What about the Wii/PS2 version of Sonic Unleashed? The game is completely different, including the bosses. imo the Dark Gaia fight is better in that version. I've even seen an edited mashup video that puts both versions' phases into a sequence.

The way you are fighting Metal Overlord is not how you are meant to tackle that fight at all. Each formation is meant to counterattack a specific attack that Metal does. You use rocket accel or blue tornado to get rid of the crystal attacks, you use Tails' thundershoot to get rid of the missile things, and you use Knuckles to destroy the fleet ships. If you just try to spam homing attack you're just gonna hate yourself. (It's also worth noting that you don't use Sonic's speed to "counter" his attacks. That's not how the fight works at all. And breaking each of Metal's attacks builds up the team blast gauge. If you do that consistently the fight really isn't that bad)
