This is a beautiful idea! I think Fall is also a good time for soup. At least where I am in the northern hemisphere, winter doesn't officially start until December 21st this year. I always find it completely bizarre that winter doesn't start sooner either.

My grandmas old house in the Lake Arrowhead mountains had the same thing. Little wood cabin from the 70s, all wood counters, gas stove and a built in, removable cutting board above the silverware drawer 😊 this gave me a pleasant bit of nostalgia 🤙🏻☮️

Houses in my neighborhood were all built in the 80s and they all have a built in cutting board (not fancy lol) but that thing is a pain to clean. I have a few large wooden cutting boards and I could totally see using one on a drawer FOR SPACE, I would not recommend cutting on that thing, seems like a good way to break a drawer and end up with cutlery all over the floor.
