i find pageant names really funny bc of how long they can be sometimes, so if i was a drag queen i would be guadalupe patricia ana martinez salinas de la rosa villegas. the joke here being from the running gag that mexicans (and to an extent hispanic and latine peeps) have super long names. every name except for guadalupe comes from people in my family who i love and admire. guadalupe for la virgen de guadalupe and the iconic telenovela (in case ya couldn't tell, im very hispanic lmao) my drag would draw very heavily from mexican fashion and culture, more specifically the folklórico dancing scene! i have always loved all the dresses in folklórico and if i were to perform in bars i would probably do a lot of folklórico dancing :D

I know in the drag king circles, there are so many kings named Justin, Max, Adam, Ben, or Hugh because they're so easy to make jokes from. I've seen a few queens named Farah Moan, and Freida Whales, so definitely check online to see if someone else has the name. Even with cosplay names, my cosplay name was taken by the time I wanted to make an Instagram account, so I used a shorter version a friend gave me. My drag name would totally be Paiden Cashe. I have Irish ancestry and Paiden is the Irish version of Patton, and a pun perfect for a drag king. I'm hoping to try king makeup this year, as the closest I came was a cosplay of Roy, as seen in Super Smash Bros.

When I was booked for my first drag show, they didn’t know this and thought it was my full drag name. If I picked my drag name based on that first criteria (childhood pet and street name), it would be Heidy Alexander the Great. That's almost a pageant name in of itself😂 But before I watched this, I already had the idea for a drag name which I've been using in the Montreal scene: Late Bloomer. Cause I love flowers and floral patterns and accessories, it's a cheeky reference to a pair of undergarments, and it's a reminder that it took a while for me to embrace who I am as a person and grow through that process. It's still a process, but drag has been hugely beneficial in helping me feel comfortable with myself.
