Yeah if the arms weren’t on it, then fine it’s alright as a dress. But those arms are so awkward, can you imagine how weird it looks when you walk? 😂

This was such a fun video! I’m a long-standing meta stan/apologist so I’m usually pretty on board for leopard print but the yellow colorway…I can’t lol. Besides that tho…salmon full shirring night carnival is my ultimate dream dress lmao. I own 2 other cuts/colorways of night carnival because I’m obsessed with it, the garishness makes it good in my eyes lol. It’s definitely a divisive print tho.

Yeah leopard print is cute in lolita! But I know a lot of people don’t like it and the yellow is a really harsh yellow in the meta dress 😭. I saw the lavender carnival dress, it looks cute and more well balanced, the salmon I just can’t get behind but mostly because it’s just not my colour 😅

Of course you had to pull out my favorite dress in the best cut/colorway in the very first go 🤪 And ngl I use to wear it with my scene/rave gear back in the day quite often 😂 not the way I style it now but it’s still top tier AP for me. Meta’s heart leopard series is also *chefs kiss* yellow British bear is the absolute worse

Yeah loads of people still vote whipped magic as one of the worst, I think I’ve seen it so often now that I’m not that fussed by it anymore haha. It’s just another dress to me :P

Ah thank you! 💕💕 I think I find it hard to do gal often because a lot of wigs are hard to style (my skills suck) and I don’t want to colour my hair light brown again. I think gal works best with a mixture of real hair and hair pieces but I’m not keen on dark brown hair pieces on myself for Gyaru tbh!

So many of these are dresses I own or dresses I want 😅 That Meta carnival dress is a dream! I own it in navy but really want the pink. I have Whipped Magic in both the pink and black color way. I really want the Meta leopard print and camo dresses and the yellow British Bear. I love the Gloomy Bear one too 😅

I never minded the gloomy bear one, I wouldn't wear it but it's definitely symbolic of the weirdness of the era it came from imo. I also think there's something very awesome about the punkuma camo OP, just not in that color and preferably not in that print. I think it could be great in a variety of other fabrics.

@@jimmehsullivan123 haha, I remember not thinking it was that crazy back then because btssb had a lot more weird stuff on their website at the time. For the punkuma OP I think a black fabric with tiny white dots will do (like the fabric from meta's Pintuck JSK with Sleeves and Collar (Polka Dot) from 2004), or a tartan to retain that punk-y feel.

I didn't know the leopard dresses were known in the community as ugly dresses (i actually like the grey color way) but i first found it looking through lolita history scans and the yellow colorway reminds me of cheese pizza and I can't unsee it

Haha yeah everyone’s got different tastes but I tried to pull up styles that are not typically seen in lolita fashion. I guess these are the “marmites” of lolita - you either love it or you hate it!
