Oh my gosh, thanks Sam! I appreciate you showing my TikTok content in your video. I think you’re awesome 😎 (you are actually one of the artists I support at Patreon) Of course I don’t use the symmetry tool for portraits myself 😉 but my You Can Draw This videos are created in a way anyone can follow them, even without any drawing experience. I want people to have fun creating, without putting too much pressure on themselves ❤️ Thanks again Sam and keep creating awesome content!

i wanna address something about a mirror tool, sure some people do have kind of symmetrical hair, and sure it can look good on certain drawings, but i think that asymmetrical hair actually helps with character design and helping your art look more fluent and interesting, of course symmetrical hair isn't always bad, everybody has their style ^^

There's actually a kid bullied on tiktok cause their artstyle is like on 6:50 like those hour glass like body then thick feet. So, many artists made art using that artstyle to shows its actually a good and cute artstyle. I do think so too, like those are the artstyle i always saw years ago and its cute but when ppl on tiktok saw the kid making tutorial how they draw the body, their anatomy is sloppy tho but that natural since they're still learning abt it, they mock them why the feet looks so thick, its ugly even saw lots of videos mocking the kid's artstyle. Also the one they bullied a kid, a minor maybe even below 15 yrs old. Cuz of that bullying they turned off their comment sections on every video and idk if they're still making tiktoks rn. Its sad seeing that side of the art community. And there's one happening rn too.

The thing is about hand tutorials is that they’re always by themselves. What I mean by that is that they’re drawing the hands and hands alone on a bigger scale than you would actually use. I don’t want to know how to draw hands by themselves, I want to learn how to draw hands on a person. Especially for traditional artists, who can’t simply zoom into the picture and draw the hands big. On an actual drawing on paper it’s really hard to get that kind of detail on a smaller scale without it looking terrible. Art tutorials please touch up on this! P.S.- Please more traditional art tutorials! Nowadays I only find digital art.

@@SofiaElizabeth06 I don't know about your situation or if your friends have matured yet, but definitely places like Twitter or Tik Tok become rather radical and take out any nuance. It's why I'm bummed that Twitter is a big place for artists. It's extremely one-sided and toxic there. I hate Twitter. I never got into TikTok's political stuff since I've heard the same about it. I don't need that in my life. People judge without nuance or remembering everyone is a human.

Some people prefer to apply line weight as they draw the line, then and there. I personally prefer to use the same line weight all around, then go back over with a heaver line weight so I have more control in the areas that will have more shadow or need more contrast. Oh I did not know Sam had tutorials on Patreon. Gonna have to check that out now. I agree with that iPad accessories video. I did not even think I was heavy handed and as it turns out my nib says otherwise. Also I prefer the iCarez matte screen cover for $9 on Amazon, and you get 2 sheets in case you damage or mess one up on the installation. It barely smudges from the oils in our skin, and the scratches are not hard to buff away with a microfiber cloth. I do need a better stand though. As much as I love the Logitech Pro case I have, the angles are lack luster.

The last video that talked about mirroring, what I like to do for mirroring is I mirror and duplicate the sketch layer to flip and make them symmetrical and whatnot so that whenever I draw the lineart it can have it’s own asymmetry to it, not being 100% symmetrical as it would be if I flipped the lineart.
