It's fascinating how it was all just a simple fix, like making the lights brighter, which takes like 1 minute, but made the composition look 100X better! The example at 3:56 went from 5/10 to 9/10 just by making the windows brighter 🤯

I am not one of the people that has sent anything in for you to rate in this series, yet I just want to let you know how amazing I think this series is! Like, you taking your time to review and critique your subscriber's work teaches me (and the rest of the viewers) so much about designing and it gives me so much motivation to continue designing! :) And the fact that you even take you time to "correct" some of them is even better. It *shows* your though process instead of you just trying to explain what you would have done differently, only using words. Keep up the great work!

These are great advising videos from you, Benny! This is a wonderfully honest and uplifting way to show how artists' creations can be improved by pointing out common sense things light adding a horizon, deepening shadows under water, and adding brighter highlights. I love how you SHOW the difference between the original and your improvements to give a visual reference. Please keep these types of videos coming! On the second image, you shouldn't be able to see the stars behind the dark portion of the moon. Even though we sometimes only see the crescent, there is still a full circle blocking the stars behind the moon. Just a note for the creator! Cool image though.

I see a lot of people do this wrong indeed. However I often just pick one or two things from a photo. I don’t wanna come off as too critical… Basically I pick the most obvious flaws and only talk about those! I don’t wanna completely destroy someone’s work🤣

This is probably the best creative critique I’ve seen on KZbin. I just found your channel and to be honest I didn’t want to like it, but you’ve won me over with your knowledge at such a young age! Also, I like how you offer up your knowledge without any fluff, just straight forward explanations and not overly flashy production. I wish more KZbin art channels were like this. Great job!! 👍🏻👍🏻

May I ask why you didn’t want to like it?

@@BennyProductions most of these Photoshop channels are just fluff, not really, giving any substance. So, at first coming across your channel was like yeah here we go again, then you did something that most don’t! You gave an honest critique, constructive, intelligent, yes, hard to hear but truthful! That won me over. I’ve been to art school I work in the industry, and that was refreshing.

On the last photo, I actually liked the original more. A distinct horizon is obviously realistic, and always looks good, but the original is a pure fantasy, and the endless depth in the background adds to the feel of that.

Keep up the honest reviews Benny. And don’t be afraid to add some half a pixel pieces on there too you know. Hearing feedback on the really bad ones are just as helpful as hearing feedback about the really good ones

1:40 something a lot of artists accidentally do, is put stars in front of the dark side of planets / moons, in this case it effectively makes it look like the moon is literally see-through in its shaded area, rather than being a solid sphere. So remember to erase the stars where the line of sight is blocked :)

Hey Benny, I think the word you're looking for for the underwater depth of field is "Opague". As in, making the water not look clear and transparent. Making it opague and adding different depths to each subject underwater.
@hobispinner2 жыл бұрын
hello there! did you mean “opaque” because there’s no such word as opague. also, i think it’s more appropriate to use the word “translucent” which means blurry but you can still see through (e.g. foggy glass) because opaque means no light passes through at all (e.g. the wall) so it would be just one solid layer of color.
@QuackQuackQuack2 жыл бұрын

It’s so funny thinking back on when I started following this channel because I really love watching people create these hyper realistic photobashed images even though I don’t make that kind of art. Fast forward to right now, where I’m literally photobashing an image for a commission for the first time instead of drawing digitally! The learning curve is definitely a steep one but I think I’m definitely improving though. Hopefully I can share a small portion of that process to my KZbin channel eventually 👀

@zwatchxd2 жыл бұрын
yeah, but that will just makes the composite even weirder because now you’re focusing on 3 instead of 2 (boat, kraken, person) that composite is quite cramped because the water took half of the image while having nothing in it, which is just a waste of space in my opinion
