It would be interesting to get insights on how Avantis differs from Dimensional in terms of the factor weighting/implementation? I assume they’re both very similar but with maybe some slight/minor differences in the factor loadings. I believe Avantis emphasizes the Quality factor a bit more more than Dimensional based on what I see from Morningstar data.

5 Factor Investing With ETFs model portfolio says it seeks exposure to all 5 factors, but backtest shows that AVUV and AVDV has negative loadings to the investment factor (CMA). Do Avantis products really consider the investment factor?

Yes - it just may be that the otherwise optimal securities for SCV according to Avantis don’t have exposure to CMA. Additionally, loadings at any one point in time don’t mean much - you want to look at long term loadings (and I don’t mean long term as in since Avantis released it’s SCV products - I mean 20+ years)
