Rattailing on the Oval Rug

Wondering how to gracefully end that braided rug you've just made? Here I show you how I do it so the end blends into the rug and doesn't have an eye-catching stopping point.

Note: It might be wise to finish lacing BEFORE hand-stitching the ends to the braid. I was extra careful not to lace through any stitching, so it worked, but the other way would work better.

I made a circular plaited rug circa 8' diameter using your method (jeans and khaki with towel and knitted sweatpants filler). Braiding was unsuitable. After the rattail, I added a couple of rounds of circles with invisible joints as per your blog. The finished article had a sombrero effect which I was able to flatten by removing a few feet of plaits and rejoining using the invisible joint. I anxiously await for a rectangular rug (continuous) instructions. Thank you for your professional rug-making instructions.

Ha! Yes, it is a time-consuming process, especially when you're SO close to finally finishing your rug! But if the video is too slow-paced, you can always increase the speed of it with the little gear icon at the bottom right corner of the screen (and I will sound like a chipmunk!)
