Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnakes will feed on both warm and cold-blooded prey and occasionally they also prey on alligator hatchlings if available. Rattlesnakes are predators who live in a wide array of habitats, including wetlands and swamps. They are good swimmers but hunting meanly frogs, birds, rodents and other small mammals. Eastern diamondback rattlesnakes kill their prey with a venomous bite. They possess a set of long fangs with which they inject large quantities of hemotoxic venom. The venom travels through the bloodstream, destroying the victim’s tissue and causing swelling, internal bleeding, and intense pain. This pit vipers are primarily active at night, but they bask in the sun during the day time as well. The threat of envenomation, advertised with the shaking of the rattle, deters many predators. However, rattlesnakes fall prey to hawks, weasels, king snakes and a variety of other species, including larger alligators. The footage was filmed by Heiko Kiera aka ojatro in 2010. The bite of an eastern diamondback rattlesnake would be fatal to an adult alligator, but they're too big to be the snake's meal, and the snake would probably only bite an adult alligator to defend. Take care and God loves you.

I think it's not I've seen documentary Gator get bitten multiple times by rattlesnake and the Gator is fine. I think it's the armour and Crocodilian immunity to venom

I've observed adult alligator getting bitten by rattlesnakes and didn't die...

Adult alligators seems to be immune to snake venom according to my own observations and the opinions of most reptile experts I've worked with... But I've not seen any scientific verification on the subject yet.

ojatro Well gators have been killed by snakes so it must've been the giant ones. Are there any venomous snakes with teeth that are sharp enough to penetrate a gator's hide? Take care and God loves you.

Alligator hide is surprisingly soft, except for the back and tail portion. Say, a rattlesnake or cottonmouth will have no problem puncturing the gator's softer body parts. Thanks for watching!
