Rattlesnakes Galore! Herping Arizona part 1

The first episode from my herping trip to Arizona! The main highlights of the day were a large Black-tailed Rattlesnake from the mountains and a red phase Speckled Rattlesnake from the low desert. Much more to come!

Daniel, that first atrox looked like a recently gravid female. All that loose skin on her back end with the short tail. I love this time of year, baby snake season. I am glad you had a great trip. I can't wait to see the next video.

The rattlesnakes were awesome, but my favorite find of the video was the long-nosed snake. The colors on that guy were way different than I normally see in photos. Great work man!

Owssommmeeeee The black tail and speck we’re both gorgeous, black tailed’s are one of my all time favorites Also that little red coachwhip was very cool, one of my favorites as well. Can’t wait to see more from the trip :D

3:22 "often" heh, I dunno, that seems to be a long time for me. ha So cool to see that black-tail just doing its thing. If you hung with the Tippet's you're in good company from what I hear. Those sheds were hefty. Sweet looking Speck!

Hey man just a question when hiking so do you stop often when you walk and observe around you ? I know that if you stop you observe more than walking and if you walk you can cover more ground so do you stop often and look?

Good question. Yeah, if I'm going through really good habitat, I'll occasionally slow down and just look around more carefully

That looks like It could be a Tiger rather than a Speckled... never heard of a blue speckled rattlesnake. Hope you didn't fall prey to that hoax put out by the University of Texas on April 1st...!
