I understand why you want to bridge the relationship. Despite what others have said and assumed wrongly about you and your family, you did your part and tried your best. At least, it is clear that they want nothing to do with your family. It was a good thing the kwv tij continued to reveal their true colors not just to your family but it bled to the outsiders too. Yes your parents may have done things that the kwv tijs are not proud of but remember we are all humans and no one is perfect. We must be willing to give grace to others. In this case, they haven't. It just shows that they still think you guys haven't changed and they likely cannot get over the fact that you guys elevated your lives. In their heads, they still think and live in the past thinking you guys are still unchanged and will be following in your parents path. In reality, it is them who have not changed.
