Fun fact: this was one of 6 concerts they played at the Royal Albert Hall ( around 1998 /1999 ?), it was televised and made into a VHS tape which I had for decades until they became obsolete! The full concert was cracking, at one point Jerry Dale McFadden ( keyboards) got loads of people up on the stage to dance which seriously worried the security blokes ! I saw them twice, Cornhill exchange, Cambridge & Camden Lock,London… and still have a blue towel that Raul used ( the young blond trombone player gave it to me at the end of the Cambridge gig 👍 Great memories.

How bloody awesome is this!!!!! I have NEVER heard Swinging Safari sound so good. If only they would put this on one of their albums. Raul Malo is without a doubt the best voice around, & there is no other band today that even comes close to the Mavericks. They are the REAL DEAL!

Short answer....No. There isn't anything he can't sing. His range--both figuratively and literally--is ridiculous. I've loved introducing him and the Mavericks to my kids. My daughter calls his voice "the male version of Patsy Cline." Hard to argue with her.

Every Band has a "Front & Face" and NOBODY is better than Raul Malo: but what makes the Magic with these guys is the synergy & Passion and Talent that is shared. I agee with TEXASFENDERBENDER. The Mavericks are, without a doubt, the best party band in the world. Absolutely without a weak spot in their lineup - musically superb, led by Raul Malo, and entertaining as hell. My wife and I drove 250 miles to catch them in concert, and then drove home after the concert. I’d do it again in a heartbeat. I’ve seen them 3 times and each concert was a delight.
