A profile of the town Raunds in the county of Northamptonshire. Filmed on the 8th January 2012.
Views in order of appearance include; the recreation ground (Tigers Field) inbetween Raunds and Stanwick with a game of football in progress, the crossways (as it was formally known) linking Chelveston, Stanwick and Raunds, views of London Road to the north and then the south, Wellington Road looking towards Titty Hoo, the Raunds Town Council Offices, Raunds Co-op and looking west along Grove Street, Brook Street, the Methodist Chapel on Brook Street, the post office on Brook Street, Hill End House on Hill Street, St Peters and Manor School on Park Street, D.J.Chantrell Butchers on the High Street, St Peters Parish Church, views of the square and finally Marshalls Road.

It's funny because Raunds is a place you go to, not through, and when they did the A45 improvements way back when, they even bypassed the bypass!!! Spent five happy banding years here, making the trip from N'pton at least twice a week in all seasons! Quite a strong sense of community I always found.

thank you -- As a "yank" I used to live there on Orwell Close during the years when RAF Molesworth was being built in the late 80s. My wife and I loved the town, we had wonderful neighbors and many good memories!

Love anything connected to Raunds, U.K. I was at RAF Chelveston 4 years, Jan. 1958 - Jan.1962. Married to Marion Saddington, from Raunds for 54 years now. We lived at 33 Rotten Row when I was there. Land lord was Vol Wolley, the butcher.

I've lived in Raunds since I was born, like to film anything of interest locally when I get the chance so from time to time video's will appear from Raunds and the local area.

Gary Fish I'm only 21 so your wife wouldn't know me at all. I know a couple of older residents who have lived in Raunds since the 50's that she would possibly now though.

My philosophy exactly! To most people this would seem boring filming everyday life and the areas where we live and work - but in the future people will want to look back at how places used to be.

@NapierNimbus Thanks Ian - not able to travel so I thought I would take some shots of the place where I live. The idea behind this video is to provide a record of how places have changed now and in years to come. Yes there was a railway line. Raunds Station lies between Keyston and Raunds and is about 2 miles from Raunds. I'll get some shots sometime as these may provide interest and the building clearly still shows that is was once a station.

@cmeonthemove Yes you could say that Chris! I found some old black and white photographs to get an idea of where the main photo spots were. I spoke to a chap on the NVR who did the same saying that these everyday scenes are good to look back on in years to come when places have changed. That's basically the idea behind the video - and it's something different as well.

This is what I should do, walk around the Village with a camcorder,especially Saturday afternoon when our local football team are playing (Old Bradwell football club) or the Church have a wedding going on. We are blessed with Two pubs and a club I have footage for the Annual Beer and Bun race on my other tube site "bradwellvillage" including the Club summer event. Thumbs up on Raunds

1220b wow you noticed, I lived there in 1989 for almost a year and I lived in the flats next to the church which the shops on the other side of the road and I went to that school and you’re right it’s still the same, wow

In fact the flats we lived in where I believe next to that post office, I also remember we would go to a club on Friday night/Saturday night and bands would play and I did air guitar on my own on the dance floor one night, I think it was called the windmill?

I live not too far away in Wellingborough. I work in Raunds quite a lot though and my parents live in Raunds so although I don't live there anymore it still feels like I do.
