He just meant instead of learning several years in Yeshiva, he decided to go to the army. That didn't make him a bad person it just means he wasn't a scholar who learnt for many years. You can't become a surgeon after being in medical school for a couple of years. The person could nevertheless be a good person.

Excellent questions! There are some deep disturbing answers but no one wants to hear them. The basic premise is that there is a deep deep chasm in charadie daas Torah society. I have recorded a video on this. But have yet to put it out. It’s mind blowing to watch brilliant talmidai chachamim have so much cognitive dissonance and get things so wrong. At least Rav Meiselman got it right on the point that he is a Rasha. But so many deeply disturbing issues, problems and questions on so many other things he says. I had so much hope when I started this video and he has a certain charisma and is certainly brilliant Torah scholar. But as he dropped in some subtle and then not so subtle ideas, I left feeling heart broken and empty.

I just watched this piece and had the same reaction. Why is everyone so happy to hear him now? Where were our rabbonim when things were bad already way back when? Why has this been muted from them for so long? We need rabbonim that speak out for us before terrible tragedy of such magnitude. We don’t need so much pain to get opinion. Now that he committed suicide im happy he can’t hurt anyone anymore. But how does that help for the future? Can the rabbonim find a way to catch this earlier? There’s gotta be something to learn from this

Rav Moshe Meiselman. Is the most genuine spiritual leader that one could ever hope to find! His greatest strengths lie not only in his mastery of every genre of Jewish sacred literature, but also in his humility and faithful service to the Rebbe. That a doer of evil has been shown to exist, leaves him with the duty that he has shown for many decades , to execute with a profound devotion & attention to detail.

44:44 “You take his mother etc.” This is based on Proverbs 10:1 “A wise son makes a father glad, but a foolish son is the grief of his mother.” Malbim comments, “Her loving relationship with her son has served to protect him from the discipline and wholesome rigors of the father’s education; she is responsible if he chooses a life of vice.”

@@leahblau3333 Let me clarify. I wasn’t commenting on CW but why the Torah uses the mother and not the father in connection with this son.
@markbr5898
@markbr5898 2 жыл бұрын
Interesting. Probably the rabbis talked about disgracing the mother so as to provide a deterrent, which today may have lost its clout. Rabbi Meiselman seemed to be generalizing from the mother to the rest of the family, which may very well not be valid, especially as they may have also been living in terror of a very violent and manipulative person.
@meandnachumtzvi7778
@meandnachumtzvi7778 2 жыл бұрын
@@markbr5898 Being that the Rambam is a Rishon like Rashi, each word is carefully chosen. So the eternity of his words are based on a concept and not advice which comes and goes. There are many places in Proverbs that speak about the mother’s power to build and destroy her home. For instance, Proverbs 1:8 “My son, heed the mussar of your father, and do not forsake the Torah of your mother.” I ask the following questions: 1. Torah should come before mussar 2. It should say Torah of your father 3. How do you know if the mother’s Torah is true? I suggest the following answer: The Torah of the mother is conditional on the mussar of the father. Meaning, when the mother lets the father do his disciplining then her Torah is true.
@leahblau3333
@leahblau3333 2 жыл бұрын
Me and Nachum Tzvi.Did you make that up off the top of your head? Why should the fathers Torah be 'more' true-we can't even leave the child's lineage up to the father.And in past generations and even becoming more common today there are countless women who through tragedy,war or other reasons are left to educate the next generation,and we're doin ok.It's been well documented that in times of challenge men give up/die first.Just sayin.

Tonight, I told someone in the kehillah here about a rabbi, who is unethical and who has responsible positions in the community and was found by the Bes Din to be unethical. But this person I was speaking with might buy one of his tefillin or mezuzot or buys some of the meat that he schechted. Should I reveal who this person is or keep it to myself. Rabbi Belsky would not hire him as "he is not religious" and his ex wife insisted that he is not religious, but the Bes Din would not publicize his kefira nor would they insist that he do teshuva for his horrendous aveiros, which they wrote about in a psak. Sad but true. This person unethically destroyed my family. This person is a Talmid Chachom, but everything he learned has not penetrated.

@@leahblau3333 I agree, it definitely is a very serious matter that should not be shoved under the rug. But, it seems that the halachah is that we can not out and out condemn a person when this is being said. Rabbi Meiselman shlitah says that anybody who thinks different from him must have skipped that particular Rambam in Hilchos Sanhedrin. But when I hear that Rabbi Gershon Edelstein has reservation then I would start thinking that he probably has a reason why that Rambam does not apply to the supposed perpetrator. Oh, definitely the people who are victims should be supported tooth and nail.

Walder accumulated power because he provided a service that in the shtetl is undervalued and overneeded: professional and empathetic talk therapy. Instead of saying "I told you so -- I always knew it!" and quoting knee-jerk reactions from the shtetl against talk therapy, Gedolim like Meiselman should create professional oversight and institutional safeguards against abuses of privilege.

Well... We're living with facts people victimize and are guilty, but we're also living inba generation inwhich people cry victim and create victims and the person accused is not guilty. Now, I wasn't attached to this case at all, so I know nothing about whether the accused was guilty or innocent. The rav wants to bring the spacifics and say the guy was literally a wicket man. I'll say from a distance, perhaps the rav is right, perhaps wrong, I don't know. I don't like the direction though, I do not believe the rav has ever been in a situation that everyone is viewing you as a rasha, this can put the mind in a certain irrational place that one could believe he's not going to get a fare judgment no matter who he goes to. To say we had a beis din and he wouldn't go and that shows his guilt, I'm not sure is correct. Perhaps the other points are to overwhelming that show his guilt, but that one point I was somewhat in disagreement with. I personally was involved in a case that people were yelling rasha! the truth though is those that were yelling rasha were completely incorrect and therefore rashaim themselves! This point of stating explicitly "He was for sure a rasha marusha" I'm also in disagreement with, perhaps the rav is in the know about this spacific case. But I know from this other case that people can accuse an innocent person and with everyone screaming "that's a wicked man over there!" I do not agree in the least with this mahalich in speech or thought! We end up with the innocent being created into the guilty. Now sure, there are guilty people out there, but to stamp one has wicked is incorrect wordage that will also be used on the innocent. Perhaps the other actions of the person can lead one to believe this is an incorrect person, yet the person would never even think to do the action thought on him. The lashon used is disturbing to me.
@levwheatley9708
@levwheatley9708 2 жыл бұрын
Thinking on it abit more. The guy never got infront of a proper beis din. Yes, he choose, but even so, you don't have the actual court case and the gamar din. Yes, that was this mans choose not to go through with it. Even so, you don't have the jewish court case. I think it's abit of a jump to say he was vadi a rasha mirushah even if the rav has knowledge of the case. The man wrote that he was requesting a heavenly judgment since he felt he couldn't get a fare judgment in this world. The rav is disregarding this as another and final manipulation of the accused, guilty man. Now once again, I'm not near the case at all. But perhaps the man believed that, according to things he had already heard from known rabbiam, he wouldn't get a proper judgment in the beis din either. Therefore he did this terrible act of removing himself from the world. Perhaps he did it because his life developed in a certain way that there was no other way he could live now that people had the view of him they did. Felt that no matter what, they're going to view me as guilty and he didn't see any other way he could exist in the world. That was his place and now it was gone. There was no beis din. Not necessarily proper to call him a rasha mirushah on the point of the accusation. Perhaps other points. But I'd side to say, he stated in the suicide note a comment of innocents, perhaps he was on this matter. There was no beis din, the rav is giving a bias to call him a rasha on the matter of the accusation.
@levwheatley9708
@levwheatley9708 2 жыл бұрын
Unless you want to go in the direction that all accused are guilty, you have to be willing to lean on the fact that false things can be stated on one that appears to be a good target. Potentially because certain actions they do that are misinterpreted or the such.

How did he get there? How did a Muslim extremist rise to the rank of Major in the Army, as a psychiatrist, destroying lives of soldiers filled with guilt and PTSD be enabled to gun down 11 soldiers in formation. It's because everyone in the beginning kept quiet or only kept their objections in a tight circle.

I have similar questions and issues to what others have brought up. There are some deep disturbing answers but no one wants to hear them. The basic premise is that there is a deep deep chasm in charadie daas Torah society. I have recorded a video on this. But have yet to put it out and don’t know if I will.

At first I was impressed but then it became simple to me that a Rav who speaks this way is a Roshe Meroshe but when he mentioned Shmuel Oirbach as evidence it all made sense! 80% of the information he’s bringing as evidence is not true, the Dayonim did not speak with the women, they heard third party testimonies from 2 women who gathered the information. The women who committed suicide was suicidal for a long time, her best friend confirmed that the night before they spoke for hours where she hinted suicide but not spoken a word about the suicide of Mr Valder. The letter of suicide was confirmed as fake! I’m not justifying the man nor his actions, however this Rav is not one I would want my kids to take lesson from! His fact are wrong, his heart rock and his mind rot! His eyes glow when he talks of how to shame the other, and looks as a horny predator when he mentions “whip” as the icing on the cake 😂🤷‍♂️ Sick man! I am ashamed to be “so called” part of this community, it’s mind blowing how narcissistic he is and how dirty his mind and mouth is!

Meiselman mischaracterizes the situation as hashkafic so he can say, “I told you so, but my hashkafa is foolproof!” The consequences to this lie can harm many seeking emotional support. Walder sexually exploited youth after providing a service unknown to the shtetl: emotional support books for kids. His sins have nothing to do with any hashkafa. Meiselman seems to see faulty hashkafa everywhere because he wants you to follow his.

The Bais Din heard directly from witnesses, and considered lots of other evidence. See the statement put out by Lishkas HoRav Shmuel Eliyahu: The Halacha requires us as Rabbanim (rabbis) to act against people who defile Beit Yisrael (the House of Israel). This involvement is not done with conventional parameters of Beit Din (rabbinical court) and we are not required to accept testimony before the defendant. Even more so when he regularly threatened women and they feared him. Despite this, we checked, investigated and questioned thoroughly. Witnesses testified that he committed adultery with married women for many years and they were forced to divorce because they were prohibited from their husbands. We saw rulings from other Batei Din (rabbinical courts) about these issues and supported the findings with additional unanimous evidence. In addition, we heard recordings in his own voice that attest to serious immoral acts, and we found him guilty without a doubt. Although it was clear to him that he was destroying homes and causing Jewish families to be hurt and become tamei (impure) he continued this behavior without stopping for a moment. We heard testimonies about 22 women and girls whom he assaulted, and there is no doubt that these cases are just a small fraction of the evil that he did. The Torah teaches us to treat Walder’s actions with the same severity as if it was murder. “For as a man will stand up against another man and murder him so is this thing.” Such acts bring anger upon Klal Yisrael (the People of Israel), evil decrees, and prevent our prayers from being heard. According to Halacha (Jewish Law) we are allowed to publicly lash him, threaten him, and humiliate him. We may remove him from being a shliach tzibbur (leader of public prayers) and stop him from teaching Jewish children. In addition to many other things that are not customary today. We don’t do these things [in these days], but we are still obligated to stop him. If we don’t warn the public about his actions and he continues, the blame will be on us, chalilah (God forbid). Due to the great responsibility on us to stop this [behavior] from happening in the future, we were forced to stop these abominations. We called upon Walder to take upon himself a path of teshuva. We sent people to convince him to repent, in order to prevent a huge Chilul Hashem (desecration of God’s Name) when his actions became public. Instead of repenting, he chose to threaten us through his messengers, just as they tried to threaten Rav Yehuda Silman shlit”a who paskened (ruled) that people to remove Walder’s books from their homes. It’s a pity that he doesn’t (didn’t) surrender and follow a path of teshuva (repentance).

This prophet like Moses is Yeshua of Nazareth. Moses freed Israel from slavery of Egypt, Yeshua freed us from slavery of sin. Moses turned water into blood, Yeshua turned water into wine. A foreshadowing of Jesus Christ 👇🏾 Numbers 21: Then they journeyed from Mount Hor by the Way of the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom; and the soul of the people became very discouraged on the way. 5 And the people spoke against God and against Moses: "Why have you brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? For there is no food and no water, and our soul loathes this worthless bread." 6 So the Lord sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and many of the people of Israel died. 7 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the Lord and against you; pray to the Lord that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people. 8 Then the Lord said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live." 9 So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.
