I totally agree, the evolution of raving has made this pressure to not only shop from small business/shops BUT to constantly have an outfit for each rave. I think I read an earlier comment on one of your previous videos, and I would love to do more of “outfit” trading to not only make it easier on us, but it’s more eco friendly. Overall, I’m sooo excited for skirts and dresses too! I just think overall it’s so cute and fun. I hope the trend stays on for a while.

Lissy messi , I always feel the need to buy something new for every festival/show/rave. I wear something once and that’s it - what an awful habit. LOVE the idea of outfit trading or something like a buy/sell/trade specifically for the EDM community.

It’s a new year (basically) so it’s a time for everyone to grow! Biodegradable glitter and small business support is a great start! But it’s a learning curve, don’t be so hard on yourself. I love seeing you evolve each time you post, and your content is very original. I’m so excited for EDC next year, thanks for being a big part of my Rave Culture Inspiration! Keep it 💯🥳🎉🙏💜

Yuss you're finally getting on the biodegradable glitter train. ♡ As for the new outfits for every event I'm a big victim of this. How I do it is first thrifting and resell. I get a lot of things second hand. I also donate and resell items that I don't like dont wear or dont fit me anymore. There's lots of groups on Facebook that cater to rave wear, depop is great for resell and shopping. I find many unique items that way. I also upcycle adding or changing existing clothing I have to make something completely different. I do spurge on custom items but they are something I can wear many times. Really smart to explore your options in your own closet before you spend money. I often try different accessories to switch it up. Also if I dont love it I dont buy it. We all want to look cute and Express ourselves but honestly 60% of clothes end up in landfills so sell it reuse it upcycle or donate it. ♡♡

Thank you for mentioning biodegradable glitter & buying from smaller shops. Poshmark is another one like Etsy. It's a social media network for fashion & is lots of fun to use. You can make offers, bargain for deals, talk about pieces with the seller or friends. I see lots of cool & unique rave wear on there. I know phat pants aren't what's really hip anymore but I still see people buying them up. They're fun to dance in & usually have lots of big pockets for all your necessities, which is a huge plus! I just can't get into the fanny pack thing lol

I love small businesses and personally think the designs are so beautiful however, they charge way more for the outfits.. i’ve tried to step away from bigger companies but bigger companies charge $60 for a set where as smaller business charge over $100.. i understand they need to make money, and they hand sew and design everything themselves but it really bums me out because after spending $100-$300 on tickets i don’t have another $100 + for outfits.
@EmmaKapotes5 жыл бұрын
Gio Campo I think that’s the main struggle people have! I tend to go for the smaller companies who still have reasonable prices because I agree, I can’t justify spending $100 on bra & bikini bottoms 😕 a more intricate, custom piece may be more worth the money!

A trend I’d really love to see, which I guess is totally anti-trend, is rewearing/repurposing festival clothes or finding them second hand. There’s so much pressure to have a new trendy outfit for every day of a festival but that’s super wasteful and even more so, super expensive. I think it’s way cooler to see someone who got creative and put something new together with old pieces and maybe a new accessory or something.
@trtlduv075 жыл бұрын
Kathryn Turk yesssss I agree so much. I can never afford new outfits for every event so I always mix and match old items along with some new items to create unique things. It’s fun, creative and less expensive. 💜

Micro skirts got popular 6-8 years ago with the influence of gogo dancers & the attire they wore at major festies. I did a couple of dance gigs back then & this is what all the girls wanted to wear.

Yasss, I looove the Dirty Bird shirt looks dope! Comfortable shoes are def the way to go if you're a dancer. Skirts are going to be rly trendy. I agree with you. They are so girly & cute. I'd like to see more of that. Biodegradable glitter? Wow I want to try it out the biodegradable glitter. I'm all about protecting the planet. Good bye to regular glitter. Hello biodegradable glitter 💗 I love chains and latex clothes. They r so sexy. I think you should make a video where you talk about your fav rave wear stores and which ones you'd like to try. I own an Etsy store where I sell colorful human hair wigs. Would love for you to try it out and review it.

I am all for supporting small business, but I don't think people should be shaming anyone for buying from larger scale companies. thats ridiculous. Its like someone getting on to you about shopping at Walmart, because its cheaper and more convenient than a farmers market. LOL. I do hope that I can invest more money into my outfits so I can support small business and my friends who aspire to make fashion! its so fun when you feel unique and special at the function.
@EmmaKapotes5 жыл бұрын
ChristyKay totally agree! There are definitely some bigger companies that don’t have the best history which is why people don’t like them, but in general I don’t think it’s bad to buy from some of there bigger companies every now and then. You will definitely have more of a chance of running into someone in the same outfit tho haha

Is it too obsessive of me to have ALL my outfits completely planned for my favourite festival already? Like literally from the socks to the hairclips etc! It‘s 5 more months, but I have every single item that I‘m gonna buy and order online saved in an excel sheet lmao. That‘s being said I‘ve had all of that planned for probably 2 months by now and I‘m constantly changing the outfits. I bet by July I have four totally different outfits than I do now. Festival fashion is my faaaavvvvvv can‘t freaking wait for spring/summer 🦋

Just my opinion on the pressure of shopping with smaller businesses: IMO if you can find something unique or cute from a smaller business or artist then that’s awesome. Do I think you should spend your entire day scrolling Etsy? No! I’ve bought things from Etsy, but I personally DIY most of my items. Etsy can be very pricy even from smaller people. I understand the time it takes to put things together, so I’m not knocking that. I just don’t have the extra coin after festival tickets, sleeping accommodations, food, etc. I may buy some scarfs or small things from amazon or iheartraves because it is so cheap. I’m sorry but no one should have to feel the pressure to buy from someone smaller. For certain things that’s the way to go, but I don’t think anyone should be shamed for buying from any source.

Besides the price point, shopping from small businesses isn't really an option for plus size/curvy bodies. From my experience the only inclusive festival/rave wear companies are the big brands everyone already knows.
