Ravel was a gifted saint from heaven who magically was given the divine ability to touch a person's heart with his notes and as well write memorable music that imbedded itself into a person's mind forever! Yes, he knew how to write unforgettably dramatic music:"Daphnis et Chloe," "Bolero," etc., but he was also able to write simple music that touched the heart: "Sonatine" for Piano, "Introduction et Allegro", "Pavane for a Dead Princess." Ah, to think that he was unable to compose for the last ten years of his life due to bad health, makes one scream in protest.

Masterly playing, making a most convincing and enjoyable version of this gem. The 2-piano medium is already one of the most difficult, on matters of synchronisation,(not to speak of fine tuning!)alone.This transcription of a subtle&sensitive piece works well only with the finest musicians. A beautiful, glittering, yet confidential conversation between two instruments; ten minutes of pure pleasure. Bravo,and thanks!

I am convinced that Ravel saw all of his compositions through the piano first. So many of his piano versions of his orchestral masterworks are coming out lately: "Daphnis et Chloe", "Introduction et Allegro" and they are so perfect for piano. The fact that Ravel's orchestration of Mussourgsky's " Pictures at an Exhibition" is considered the best version shows our recognition of Ravel's skill and expertise with the orchestra. Who would think Little Ravel and his universe of piano music was ultimately one of the greatest orchestrators of all times?

Beautifully played and shaped. Especially excellent rhythmic discipline, where some pianists are fooled by Ravel's beguiling harmonies into losing the structural pulse underlying this gorgeous music. It all comes across as so natural, and a lot of work must have gone into achieving this level of polish. Thank you!

Absolutely fabulous rearrangement of Ravel's harp masterpiece where I actually didn't miss the harp. Oh, Ravel what masterpieces you created. You are an absolute vessel of God and the angels speak through your music. It is through music that we can feel and "see" the face of God and His kingdom of heaven which will be the symphonic release for all of us who are prisoners of this faded and inadequate Earth.

Me parece muy extraño que muestren las manos de él pero no las de ella. Cuando la cámara la enfoca, sólo vemos su rostro, nunca sus manos. ¿Por qué sería? En cuanto a la ejecución, creo que es maravillosa, teniendo en cuenta que es una obra escrita originalmente para arpa y orquesta. Un hallazgo fabuloso!

I have to agree the original version is preferable, but Ravel made the transcription himself, so it's great to have this piece in the 2 piano repertoire. I have to say having played the chamber ensemble reduction (piano II), it's probably harder than the solo harp part (piano I) and some camera work should have been on the second pianist's hands as well.

la Tomassi è stata formata dalla più grande didatta di tutti i tempi Annamaria Pennella e poi i meriti se li deve prendere l'accademia di Imola ma basta guardarla suonare e si vede l'arte napoletana.

Le pause si suonano: ad esempio batt. 12. E poi, d'accordo sul rubato, d'accordo sull'imitare il rubato di Argerich, ma le battute durano 3/4, non due e mezzo. (n° 8 della partitura). Belle tecniche. Peccato manchi la musica.
