One of the biggest revelations I'm having as a new player is that you also get plus frames from blocking moves. So say if I want to frametrap, connect with a slow 16 frame move etc. and I'm struggling to get a hit, I can just block mostly anything and opponents will give some plus frames to me for free. If I'm intentional about what I press after blocking certain moves I can fish for counterhits, be jab-safe, avoid power crushes, catch sidesteps, etc. with *way* less work on my end. This has helped my risk management and decision making so much EDIT: And replay takeover lets you "change" the button you pressed and see if it would've made the situation better or worse. Or you picked the right button but didn't mash it quickly enough, things like that

One cool setup I'll suggest to ravens is after tornado, do ff3 > 2+3 > 3~4 > bt1+2. You can replace the bt1+2 with other options depending on how your opponent gets up. You can experiment with ending combos with b1 or f23 into soul zone

quick question about Raven df2: The 3 extension is safer on block than df2 alone, would you recommend defaulting to df2,3 in intermediate ranks since the followup is safer, might catch people off guard, and isn't too likely to get ducked or sidestepped by Red rank players? Even if the 2 whiffs, the 3 will often catch people trying to whiff punish it. Great vids though man, cheers

No, most intermediate players will still duck and launch it. I would have said yes in T7 but it’s way easier to duck and launch now

Not really, it's more about knowing how frame tight you are. And being frame tight +1 or more doesn't beat system mechanics, being +4 in any one interaction does! If you're +4 on hit, the ONLY way to remain +4 in that interaction is to jab

@@imortalXsoul i mean a combination of moves that pressure people to block and if they press, they get punished pretty bad. Only thing I can think of for Raven like that is 3,3,4(condition them with 3,3 and eventually they'll begin to start to press and then you hit them with the 4). I just want a little more moves I can chain together to pressure a little more and get folks to block. I feel like Raven is strongest when he's respected.
