This is THE place I first went to with a church group many years ago as a kid. My first group overnighter. It rained and a girl I loaned an extra tent to got her down sleeping bag wet. My friend Mike and I used our boy scout mess kits to pan for gold. Then we practiced denting each others mess kits by tossing them onto rocks in the creek. One of the chaperones lost the top to my canteen at the top of the cliffs. He had been smoking weed. I made many trips there with friends and family throughout my younger years as the place was so neat to me. It still holds a special place in my heart. I climbed up into the notch in the falls once and saw the largest salamander I have ever seen in my life. Very good memories.
