OK giving it to Raven just for sheer firepower alone BUT just an extra note on the sunlight thing. The vampire Marceline got her healing from was able to heal and stay healed in sunlight. They put her in sunlight and she shrivels briefly, then heals with no real ill effects.

@@changsiah2 Death Battle removes everything that keeps the characters from killing each other. Other than that, they try to stay as true to the characters as they can. Mikasa was fairly within character, but Blake was way out of it.

If you rewatch the scene you'll clearly see it plays out like this; First Jake jumps out of the bush and knocks the umbrella out of Marceline's hand (exposing her to the sun causing her to writhe in agony), next while Fin and Jake are arguing Marceline crawls back under her umbrella, then Fin pushes Jake away and runs to Marceline under the umbrella, While under the umbrella Fin tells Marceline to cast an Illusion and turn into bat to hop into his backpack, Jake knocks Fin away and pierces the umbrella with a stake, Jake flips the umbrella and watches the smoke illusion fade away thinking it was Marceline, Fin congratulates Jake for breaking the spell that Marceline had over him, and finally after Jake leaves Marceline comes out of Fin's backpack saying "Fin I owe you big time , changing into bat and hiding in your backpack was genius".

I feel like the powersets of Raven and Marceline cancel each other out except for two elements both addressed. Marceline is notoriously week to mental attacks and has been brainwashed twice in canon. Also while she does have magic she has no preternatural resistance to magic - instead relying on a healing factor and an ability to draw energy from other people and her surroundings (repurposing it). Hence the soul sucking. Raven draws her power from Heck. And her Azrath daddy's domain. Raven actually has way more flexible powers which (as usual for death battle) puts Raven and Marceline in the "Tank vs DPS" debate. Can Raven deal enough power to the tank (Marci's the tank) to overtake Marci's defences - allowing for the fact that there is a Range to Marci's soul sucking. Unlike her father, Marci has to be close. Like, within a several meters.

Marceline has been mind controlled before, or at least heavily influenced. She had her memories altered by that one dude she dated briefly. Finn had to go into her head and return the memory. Then Jake killed her then ex :-P He sold her stuffed toy Hambo to the sky witch and made her forget he did that. Also she's had her powers completely removed before by PB. Is this a feat Raven could pull off as well with her magic rather than technology? I do like me some team suck though.
