I'm so excited to share with y'all my 2023 Christmas decor theme. Join me as I decorate my house for Christmas! I've done a several different themes throughout the year--candyland, gingerbread house, white winter wonderland, and last year's all pink theme. It's a challenge to come up with a fresh new theme each year, but I'm up for it!

Ski lodges are usually dim with warm lighting and fireplaces. So maybe for the party you can dim your lights to help create that ambiance you're looking for.

Ski lodges keep the trees simpler. I’d just add some plaid ribbon to the tree and stair railings. - Some large deers around - DIY a large bear or deer head with paper mache for over the fireplace is a Must - Remove the large pompas grass near the entry and put large ski set there and some garland around the mirror - The table near the fridge, remove the painting and hang skis

I agree - a lot more plaid especially a plaid ribbon on the tree would bring it all together. I love the idea of the deer over the fireplace but if that’s not possible I think some vintage snowshoes would look great too.

I would have just done the white shimmery tree look. Im not a fan of the greens and teds its giving older generation vibes. I would have loved to see a new millennium ski resort!! White trees silver ice blue kind of like a frozen color scheme. I adore Raven but this one isn’t my fave. But ik she will pull it all together at the last minute 🤞🏽

I think you should definitely incorporate more woods / plaid into the tree so that it gives that ski lodge vibe you’re looking for. I think you might be adding too much white which is throwing it off but still so pretty , I was WAITING for your Christmas decor vids to drop ❤❤

Couple ideas for you theme -fake deer head -dark sheepskin or cowl print kinda rug - ravens ski lodge wooden sign -lots of wax candles -floor cushions

Try adding more pencil trees throughout the house and outside put some real ones, spray them to have the aspect of snow. Put a coat rack as well and hang some coats. I like the theme although challenging

There's also traditional food like Kaiserschmarrn at the ski lodge as well as a special drink that people drink apres-ski and for the ski lodge you could make a game incorporating the skis or the goggles or something or like a rack where people usually hang their boots to dry at the ski lodge

It’s looking great, Raven! Balsam Hill has pretty large ski ornaments that would look great on your tree. I think adding warm tones with wooden things and wool blankets and outdoorsy prints can help tie the theme. Love your decorating videos!

This is too cute! Less white and more green, burgundy, and plaid items will help it be less glam. A lot more wood/logs would give it that lodge/cabin feel. Log rounds diy going up your fireplace would be cute and make your home feel more warm, and using can snow on your windows would give the illusion of it being cold outside.

Random thought but you should put up decals on your sliding doors so it gives the feel like you’re looking out into the snow. Like you’re inside a smaller cozy cabin and outside you can see the snowing mountains or something? And your ceilings are pretty high so maybe you can hang a ski lift over your living room or entry area? Last idea- DIY a wooden wall so it makes the area feel cozier as well. Anyway, so excited to see the final result, you and Zoe are so creative and always execute themes and parties amazingly 😍 Edit: okay just saw the end and you’re not going for just traditional cabin feel lol

Love this theme! I think you need to cover your couch in a big plaid blanket or something similar to give cozy ski lodge, and knitted blankets, and lots of faux fur? And maybe plaid ribbon woven through your main tree? And you could use kids mittens and ear muffs and Pom poms as decorations?? Also love the idea of stringing a few ornaments together when decorating your trees, am definitely going to do that!

I would love to see your take on a Santa's Workshop type of theme, I think you would pull it off great! I also see ski lodges as very warm, cozy and homey and kind of leaning rustic. You can definitely incorporate that and still lean luxe, for example draping a thick quality (faux) fur blanket on the couch. I think playing into the color brown and incorporating knitted elements could help. This is a great theme to use as an excuse to cozify your home

You should add blue and green (maybe with bows - maybe velvet ) to the main tree and I would get those oversized poinsettias (possibly felt) to add to the stair railing and possibly blue and green birds that clip to the rail garland. That one oversized plaid pillow on the sofa, I would buy 3 more for the sofa and one more matching blanket to make it feel more luxe and inviting - cozy vibes! Love it Raven, your videos are the best!❤

You need some log cabin wall paper you can install around the house to take away the white walls...install in guest bathrooms, fireplace, and dining room areas...That will make it feel more lodgey. Great job!!

I've seen so many decorations at Walmart that would go with this theme... last year. Also, that white wooden sign from the Halloween decor would go perfectly with your theme. It reminds me of the wooden signs you see in the mountains, sometimes next to the lodge. One more suggestion, where the pampas grass is next to the front door, maybe put some skis instead. And the ski patrol sign would be cute next to the shot glasses. 😅

I'm loving this unique theme you picked this year!! My favorite faux snow recipe is made with baking soda and cheap white conditioner. I love it because it's moldable like real snow! You can make snowmen, or even have a snowball fight! If you prefer, you can even add a few drops of essential oils too. I love scents that include peppermint, sandalwood, cedar, or vanilla. This particular recipe makes about 3 cups, and it will last for up to 5 days when stored in a cool place in a Ziploc bag or Tupperware container. To make a bigger batch, multiply the ingredients but use the same ratio. Also, you can add a little more baking soda if you want it less wet, but I find this consistency to be perfect. Here's how to make it! ❄️☃️ Faux Snow ☃️❄️ ❄️Add 2 1/2 cups of pure baking soda and 1/2 a cup of white hair conditioner in a bowl. ❄️Mix ingredients together until completely combined. I hope this helps, and I can't wait to see the Raven's Famous Christmas Party you come up with this year!!! ❄️🐿️☃️🏂🏼🚡🌨️🧣🦉🥶🏔️🛷🎄🦌⛸️❄️

From what I've seen of Pinterest ski lodges, they seem to emphasize the architecture and the tree and garlands. I would do a more elaborate garland on the stairs and the fireplace along with the main tree and then focus on making it seem snowy on the exterior maybe with some snow spray that some stores put on the windows.

Don’t know if you’ll see this but I think the decor problem might be the white, yeah on the outside ski resorts are filled with snow but on the inside it’s a lot more earthy tones like brown tan green and then there’s that red

Raven in order to get the ski lodge effect in the entry. you need to add groupings of candles to your stairs…..all the way up your stairs. This would give a very dramatic lighting effect. Then you can turn some of the lights in the foyer area down and have the candles give a warm glow to the space. Most ski lodges are dark and have lots of wood so candles are used as a warm glow. This would give that effect. In addition you need to add some picks, etc. to your stairway garland. I use thick snowy pick branches a lot to make my garlands look fuller.

Love this year’s theme. I think the white ornaments on the tree is throwing it off. I would take them off. Try adding dark matte greens & dark blues, mixed with plaids & more woods, moody colors to darken it up. You have a lot of white with the walls so darkening the decor will add more lodge coziness. You can get cheap plaid scarves & hats with plaid throws and add to wood hooks for a wall decor idea. Just some ideas. I know you’ll make it fabulous. Oh, and cranberry/holly picks in the tree & vases
