The golden age, I started in 1993 and stopped in 2000. It was all about being in the moment. Feeling free and enjoying everyone's company...no glitz, rugged and beautiful ❤️. I wish someone would do a true documentary of the scene in NorCal in the 90's. So much to tell.

Had to come back to this, during lockdown, the contrast of the amazing crazy nights we had. Its unfortunate that the youth of the past 10 years is stuck on me me me, maybe this quarantine will humble them and make them appreciate real life. FUN, being out there, being SOCIAL, having adventures GOING for it, taking risks(be smart about it tho=) Im still that Jedi Vampire that I was, AND WE know how to REALLY ENGAGE, get the crowd going, NOT afraid, how to enjoy the simple rhythm of the soul, and especially, how to dance our ASSES OFF, even now without drugs =)

This lit up so much inside, made me even talk to myself from that time period asking what advice would I give that past version of me? I drove by the Home Base area last weekend, sat there, & soaked in the surrounding energy in the space that once was. It's a trailer park now & storage area for construction equipment. Denny's is still there! :) Thank you making this over a decade ago, glad to see it now & probably again in the future. "There's no place like Home Base!" :)

Cyberfest in Oakland at henry j kaiser convention center. They had the main floor dj and about 4 other smaller room dj's. They had 21+ bar rooms with dj's as well. they had a big grass patch outside for all the stoners to lay down. there must have been 10k people at those raves. A couple more raves at Homebase. Best parties of my young adult life age from 19-23. I wish a promoter could re-create the raves from that time. EDC is just too commercialized.

@OwnedTV Yeah during the summer of 2001, I broke into various warehouses around the Bay (including Home Base) cuz I was thinking of throwing a small renegade. I never ended up doing it but years later, I found out that others actually did it at Home Base. I was so bummed that I missed it. I actually had a dream once about being back there to party, had no idea that it actually happened lol! Yeah back then I just grabbed my dad's camcorder cuz I wanted to film the lasers and visuals hehee!!!

I raved from '91 to 2000. New Years Eve 2000 rave was a blast. By then, I may have only hit a few for the year before I stopped going. And not because the scene changed, but because I turned 30 years old on 10/24. As a matter of fact, most of my crew just stopped going around then because we were getting older. I had a blast thruout the bay area raving during that 9 year period though.
@1313sp5 жыл бұрын
Fondly remember Home Base. I started raving in 95... 95-97 were the best years raving in the Bay Area for me, lots of underground parties... BEFORE the candy ravers practically ruined everything.

Damnit I never made it to Home Base as well but all my friends or squad did!! I was still young then since only graduated in 01, just attended more breaking events then. Still going strong in the new generation with my squad still in tact fortunately. My OG's have been retired a long time ago and I guess it's up to squads like us to keep representing. Still breaking, shuffling better than youngsters, we keep improving and getting better. Completely different scene than back then but back then I wasn't a team captain then and was the little young short kids of the group, the height and skill came to me later into beginning of adulthood. Sorry I showed up late to the party like Digweed in the movie Groove.
