I received my first job offer from R&AW in 1983 after clearing test and interview. In fact, I was told that the job offer was from cabinet secretariat. Prior to receiving the appointment letter, one policeman came from local police station and wanted me to visit the police station. When I visited, he showed me a copy of my offer letter and told me that they invited me to the station for verification process. Whereas, I received my offer letter from cabinet secretariat 3 months later. However, I did not join as my parents were against joining R&AW then.Later I joined National Informatics Centre, Govt of India
