@veggietalesfan65 I know what you mean, had a similar situation either last year or the year before when a water main burst on 610 here in your neighbor city, Houston. My mom would've went that way but she decided she was craving a very specific chicken restaurant she hadn't been to in a while, and thus went to where she was going a different way and avoided her car getting drowned by the water main burst.

This situation begs for separate freight lanes. Having so many trucks & cars on the same lane. Trucks fall down and flatten cars. Cars run under the trucks and people die.

Those big trucks shouldn't be in express lanes. They should be in the normal lanes and driving with reduced speed simply because of the weight they carry.
@kickazz9473
@kickazz9473 3 жыл бұрын
Most tractor trailer accidents are caused by people in regular vehicles. They cut big rigs off tailgate and in general they treat them like any other vehicle. I see this every single day on the interstate. Honestly trucks should be mandatory left lane driving unless exiting. By keeping them in slow lane it cause accidents from dumbasees cutting them off to hit an exit 3 seconds faster. I realize that's not what caused this accident. Im just speaking in general that's what causes most rig accidents. People swerving over cutting them off or fast breaking from vehicle in front of them. These guys need a lot of room to stop. They can't do that when people swerve over in front of them and break.

I live in Wisconsin and my worst incident happened when I was going 35 (in a 50) slightly pressed on my brakes to slow for my turn and lost control, luckily no cars were nearby and I bounced off the snow rather then go into the ditch, but still that was me already taking precautions and with knowledge and experience driving in the snow. I ended up facing the opposite direction then I was going on the wrong side of the road. (like a 210 degree turn) point being, be careful as even experienced drivers can lose control. (my car survived without even a scratch, but that was mostly luck and the fact that the snow acted like a bumper rather then a brick when I hit it)

Can I get A Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah!! Absolutely true but the left lane losers are ultimately who cause people to get rear ended. If someone is going fast it’s best to let them past. Going 40 in a 60 is going to cause someone to slam on their breaks very suddenly.

It’s no one’s fault. Who cares “which car started this.” The weather was terrible. No one knew something like this would happened. The only thing we do now is prevent this from happening again by paying closer attention when we drive. Texans drive fast. So next time, don’t. @@jessicagreen5871 obviously. But we do have the highest speed limit in the country. Therefore gives us the mindset that it’s okay to drive fast. @@itsnitzia true, but what I mean by “Texans drive fast” is because we have the highest speed limit. I’ve also lived out in the country, might be a smaller population, but some take advantage of empty roads. It just sucks that this is happening. Our children Were in school luckily when we got hit or they would have died we were rear ended by a guy texting and driving he never even touched his breaks on a road that’s 55 limit we were stopped waiting for someone in front of us to turn the impact was horrendous. Not even... just black ice and location of the pileup. After a curve, through an overpass and over a hill. It would be too late for anyone to stop after seeing the pileup.

@@joshn5073 you're just wrong. If you are going straight, you can go over ice at 65+. I live in Wyoming and have done it many times, even with fresh snow on top of the ice. The problem is not the ice, but how people drive on it. You can't turn and just have to go forward, while leaving a huge gap between you and other drivers. We have icy roads 60% of the year, and we have an almost zero amount of ice related crashes.

I'm Canadian and we would never build a speedway in between a highway, especially with concrete barriers on each side. This part of the highway should be RIPPED up and redesigned. Cause guaranteed another deadly pileup will happen. I dont care what kinda of conditions the road was in, this design is deadly.

Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. No one knows when their final moment on this earth will come. Live each day as if it's your last because it may very well be. That stretch of interstate was ice covered and downhill with concrete barriers on both sides so nowhere for anyone to go but straight into the pileup.

As a person who lives here, I want to say that we don’t really know what driving in ice is and what to do. People ask why didn’t they just break but honestly this ice is crazy. It’s just very weird overall and people have to continue working due to this pandemic.

Ya dps sucks and other “drivers Ed” programs. They don’t teach everything...just a quick business to extract $$$ from the people. But also each individual is responsible for their own safety. But some lack common sense ✌🏼
