Then she sprouts her pro-forma response. This is how abusers get away with violating others. They use their power and position to deny that any of these alleged wrongs occurred. So how does any victim prove it. Bedy honestly believes that she is above reproach and obviously not able to consider another's perspective or accept any responsibility whatsoever. I’m finding it really hard to believe that one hospital had that many cases of Munchausen by proxy because it’s an extremely extremely rare mental health disorder. For one hospital to have two or three before Maya, and then several after is ludicrous, - Munchausen by proxy syndrome is a relatively rare disorder. In general medicine, about 1 percent meet the criteria for Munchausen by proxy that the incidence of Munchausen syndrome by proxy is 0.4/100.000 among children aged below 16 years and 2-2.8 per 100,000 among children aged below 1 year Also, this woman saying that she never documented anything goes against all kinds of protocols in place by hospitals, especially dealing with minor children. I can't even imagine being a young child with an extreme pain disorder and then having a bunch of incompetent doctors & staff lodging false complaints against my guardians and getting removed from their custody, then having those useless doctors wrongfully taking over my treatment & then entirely dismissing the severe pain disorder under the guise of calling it fabricated by medical abuse, then refusing to treat any of my pain and basically torturing a young child through withholding any pain medication and treatment. Unfortunately, this kind of case and this total incompetence, narcissism, and sadism in doctors is insanely common. I'm also very chronically ill and see countless specialists. Take it from me - most doctors are not only worthless, but they're also flat out sadistic and are on a constant power trip. This is far too common, and there needs to be far more laws & regulations in place to prevent this kind of behaviour in medical professionals, and to keep awful and/or incompetent people from going into the medical field in the first place. This is exactly why the rates of suicide in chronically ill people are so high, and continuing to climb. The healthcare system in this country is horrific.

The be all and end of this case is that the parents took her for treatment in Mexico, which enabled her to have a relatively pain free life. On attending John Hopkins the Mother presented all of her notes that she had made, that she had made whilst looking for a cure for her daughter. John Hopkins being very snooty about this Doctors treatment ( he had spent 17 years on this condition ) and as they disregarded his advice, they went for the Mother, " because She was asking too many questions! " They didn't see many cases of this rare disease so they TOTALLY disregarded any advice.

We left there had a good cry together and went home. I just watched the "Take Care of Maya" documentary and I'm so mad! I'm so sorry, and im so ashamed of what these people did to that family, and, unfortunately, so many others! I am nauseated thinking of the complicated, horrific nightmare this family endured at the hands of these incompetent, bitter and self important people! That's really, really scary for any parent watching this unfold. Am I going to be Ok taking my children to the ER if they get hurt or God forbid, become sick with some unknown/rare illness?
