I'm a long-time quilter who's never done applique and who's been away from quilting for several years; this video has inspired me to get back into sewing by doing some of this easy applique. Wonderful little pearls of wisdom on details, like letting the pieces FULLY cool before removing the freezer paper. You're a gem. Thank you so much!

I know this is an old video. I just wanted to say that, I know what it’s like to worry that your contributions aren’t original or valuable. But I watch a mix of videos whenever I’m trying to pick up a skill because everyone presents things a little differently, and I never know what will best help me understand what I’m trying to learn. So thank you for pushing through that fear. It is helpful.

cousin, Great Video! i have recently been guided by the Holy Spirit to create a project for my neighbor that has just lost her husband and she had to sell the house they shared for 20 years, They used to feed the deer on their front walk in town and had this massive buck that they would always feed, the last night as i was helping her do the final touches of cleaning for the new owners, God blessed me with the idea then a deer showed up and waited to be fed, i was able to get the perfect picture of what i had been shown for a pattern. but after doing a lot of research on starching and applique, I must confess none of the videos had addressed my questions or concerns, so i put in "quilting starch for applique" and yours was the first video to come up! thank you for your hard work on making quilting affordable and doable for the common man or woman that is on a budget. May God continue to bless you and your quilting ministry. your cousin cricket from Montana

Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. Public speaking is actually the number one fear for most people. Kudos for getting out of your comfort zone. Your tutorial is very relaxing, enjoyable, and helpful. I'm glad you cautioned people about sewing the project while the glue is still wet. I got in a hurry and broke the hook gear on my Janome Gem, that cost me $250 repair. I was devastated that I broke my machine. Had you tilted the eyelids a bit to the outside of the eye, he would not look angry. The lids actually touch the eyes in the drawing. Your public speaking is just fine!! The video could be shorter by fast forwarding through the cutting and gluing steps. Just show one at slow speed, fast forward several, and show the last one. Same with the glue; show one, fast several, show the last one.

DJ Shanas You May notice that her edges are still nice and smooth and not ragged like they can be when using a glue stick. And she dries the glue with her iron so it won’t gum up her needle when she sews over it. That’s the trick right there! 😁

Thank you for this video Lisa and explaining how freezer paper is used (and also the fabric glue). The basics and "key" steps of method and use of the tools of applique save so much time and error and are so important to a novice like me. I enjoy your enthusiasm about your work and it inspires me.

LoveElmers glue for lots of projects such as anything that needs batting it secures the fabric to the batting perfectly (No Shifting). I have never used it in appliqué, but will from now on, it looks great and saves lots of money. You are such a good teacher, love your channel, thanks.

I'm grateful to you Lisa for making these applique videos. because I haven't done applique in a lot of years. and a lot has changed since I have. The first time I did the applique using the freezer paper, I actually applied it to the wrong side of the material. Of course the alphabetical letters that I cut out we're backwards. So lesson learned after that I thought, oh my gosh go back and watch the video Lisa had posted. Needless to say I already found out immediately what I did wrong by watching your video. So thank you so much for this. Also the tips on actually doing the applique are great to re-watch and learn from too thanks again love all your video's I just want to make everything !!!!!

OH! MY! GOSH!! Thank you SO much for making this video Lisa! I'm a total newbie at sewing applique, and am very drawn to the look of it. Your timely video was a EUREKA!! moment! FREEZER PAPER! Who would have thought. SO glad I found you. Subscribed. My daughter has had our first grandchild and his pet name is Pumpkin! This video has inspired me to make him a little pumpkin quilt or bath towel. Your style is down to earth, friendly, and you do a great job. Don't knock yourself-practice makes perfect and you'll only get better at it. Though, you're fine now. :) Bless you.

Lisa, I have used the Elmers on lots of other projects but not on appliqué, this will be great for that and a real money saver. I make lots of fabric bowls and containers and it is wonderful to hold the batting. It works great on all batting projects with no residue and the glue always washes out. Love your channel, thanks.
