Lou addresses the confusion surrounding the assertion that The Folk Implosion are playing their first shows in 26 years when, in fact, he toured as The Folk Implosion, with a different line-up, extensively in the early 00s. He plays the songs Pearl and Easy from 2003's The New Folk Implosion L.P. and acknowledges the mess he made.

I’d love to hear Lou talk about Belt Buckle, Deluxx Folk Implosion, and all the other “smaller” side projects that would end up on singles or compliations and then disappear. I loved all that stuff and still have the vinyl of a lot of it.

I think your songs are incredible, crazy... they sound so simple, and intense, and real, and fucked up "but that's how it is" :D they kind of "illustrate" a lot of things that are going through my head, with a dark beauty that I think I'm too hardcore to waste my time painting :D I love it when I can "see" who is playing a song, whether it's ultra-noisy electric rock... or some quiet (but never "soft") acoustic guitar...

Lovely versions of both tracks. I recall seeing your "New" Folk Implosion incarnation a few times in the UK, and I recall Imaad and Russ with you, definitely in Manchester. Imaad did a set on his own. I don't recall seeing you tour (the UK) with John. Looking forward to the new tour, I have tickets already for one date, and will get more dates as they become available.

I’m with Adele on the song “Roxanne”. I liked it briefly but I burned out on it. It’s proverbial nails on a chalkboard for me and has been for… 20 years? Ouch. Time burns.

'The New Folk Implosion' album was (and still is) great. Sorrynotsorry. 'Pearl' is still a timelessly beautiful song, regardless of band/artist name. To this very moment in time, I cannot understand why this album was poorly received (obviously, Ditchfork were beginning to believe their own hype, resulting in them becoming the snarky high-school bully of music journalism - fu*k them).
