I am glad you touched upon this. I grew up in Juárez. I love the city. I love the people but it is sad to have moved because of the issues addressed in this video. The worst part is that you become desensitized. At one point like he mentioned here, you see it as normal. And I didn't belong to any gang or got involved but still lived through all that narco and gang violence. Everything he says is true about cartels. They're savages but they've also become folk heroes to some. That's the real tragedy. That it becomes so normal or you are so used to it that you end up thinking at one point, that's just how it is or it'll always be.

I feel your story! I grew up in a Catholic environment, as an African American in the Northeast in the 60s. I attended Catholic Elementary for 8 yrs learning about Catholicism but They couldn't answer ANY questions. Just have Faith was their "Motto" That Math Didn't Math with Me! One day while at a Catholic Church Service I became very I'll. Anxiety Stricken. I had to get out of there My mother changed us and we started attending Baptist Christian Services. Although it seemed a bit more inclusive, it still answered no questions but added to my confusion. Sinning on Friday & Saturday night and acting all "Religious" for a brief time Sunday morning didn't Math Either! ALLAH sent, my way, inspiration through many different sources which drew me to Islam. Islam answered ALL my questions and made sense. If you are going to worship the Creator for all of your blessings, known and unknown, this made more sense! Worship just 1 day a week? GOD'S blessings are continuous daily. Shouldn't we be more grateful? Islam Adds Up to Perfect Math! Because ALLAH is the Truth! 🕋

When I heard from shaikh Uthman ibnfarooq, it reminded me of the old days, when I was also in a gang in the 90s, but it was not as fierce as shaikh Uthman ibn farooq's, but it was something, Alhahammdolillah, I thank Allah subhana wataala that Allah took me and many brothers and sisters out of darkness and came to the light AlhahammdoliAllahi rabbel alameen☝️, forgive me if I wrote wrong.☝️🤲May Allah subhana wataala give us hidaja and give us strength to fight against our nafs and sajatin and give us stability and give us success in donja and akera and that we are among the 70 thousand who go straight up to jannath fardus ala without accounting, Ameen ya rabbil alameen.🤲

Alhamdulillah! Living In Northern California I've known Nortenos y Surenos. That's very serious stuff with those two gangs. Allah protected him to walk away unscathed from those people. He is an inspiration for many. He puts in the work. Not just from a keyboard, but goes out on the blacktop in the elements against racists, Islamophobes, violent individuals and mentally disturbed people. May Allah grant him Jannah. Ameen.

Omg I had the same experience when I first came to united states in the 80's ,I started at 8th grade and my father made me wear a suit and bow tie, even though i insisted it was a bad idea and it was. My father was an imam so he wanted me to look my best.
