RAW: Mysterious drones flying nighttime patterns over northeast Colorado

Jennifer Rollins was visiting her parents in rural Yuma County the day after Christmas when her husband looked up and said, “Hey, look, some drones.”
“We thought he was kidding because we’ve been reading the news stories,” she said.
But he wasn’t - up in the air was some sort of contraption, with red and flashing white lights, that rotated as it moved up and down through the sky.

I am so happy that I am not the only one that has seen these things. If you shine a spotlight on these things, they will approach you. If these are drones, they have one hell of a battery! Because they can float up there for hours and hours. I still am not sure what or who controls these things.

I saw something similar over DC flying back and forth for hours, 2 days in a row, the strangest thing is that no one is allowed to fly drones within 15 mile radius of here. Its unsettling and weird that no one else notices this, glad I found this video! I wish we had some answers. The battery life on this thing lasted so long, it says on google typical drones don't last longer than 40 min.

Saw something like that myself, a couple of times this week, here in Montana. It was close enough that I could see headlight type lights on it as well as the red and white alternating lights. It always appeared at the same time each night about 1:45 A.M. Not sure what it was, but it was fascinating.

it's worth of mentioning that there are newer satellites that don't need to orbit too high, in fact, they are carried in globes on the atmosphere. they might have some sort of control propellers enabled by solar panels to keep them in the desired position or range.

Law should mandate drones to have a specific color that identifies them or possibly a particular blinking or flash similar to airplane so they won't get categorized as a ufo (unidentified Flying object).

What I’ve described isn’t any drone. That’s what people like to think they are however, they will stay in the air for hours masquerading as a star. I’ve recorded them by phone for around 90 minutes twice, showing them moving around. You can spend $20k on a drone and still not get more than an hour fly time. Anything more would be classified and for example, during the recent “super moon” 9/29/2023, most stars weren’t visible due to the moon’s brightness yet there were a dozen of these things spread out around the sky. Every night. Why would the military and/or government do this. And they are very low. During a recent couple cloudy evenings with a cloud ceiling of about 2500’, a couple were under that. People also say satellites although where satellites are, they wouldn’t be visible with the naked eye.

@@dopefrashnesssannnnn Texas as well. They followed me from my old home (selling) to my new place of residency. It started happening to me in June when the eclipse in Scorpio and Taurus happened (1st one) second one November 8th. They pop up more so around Full moons for me, but they are still around when the moon is not full, they don't get as close and fly around as much, they become more stationary. It's still noticeably a drone not a larger aircraft. I have videos of baby ones and larger ones of all sorts of both places of residency. It's very creepy and concerning. I thought the same as the commenter from Australia, they're spraying stuff in the air. This is not because of my air purifier more so all the evidence in the past and personal opinions/beliefs on our "democracy" if you can even call it that. This isn't even the beginning, but certainly not anything near the ending. I agree with the commenter who gave the flag a thumbs down clearly directed towards the peeping drone named Tom. It's a joke.

My wife and I see the same ones here in rural NW Florida. There are a dozen or more some nights. They are there for hours and hours so they aren’t “drones”. If you shine a laser at them they will dance all over trying to get away. I have taken pictures with my phone attached to a monocular. One even comes to the same spot every morning around 4 am. Sometimes I can even catch it coming in. So close it looks like a drone that is a couple hundred feet away. Yet when I leave for work, it’s always the same distance away even when I get to work 30 miles away. But when I see it come in, it looks like a star far away then comes down over the treetops as if it’s a bright drone. But these things move and are in the sky 8 hrs or more. Since we have become aware and started shooting lasers at them through lenses, we have noticed lights every night in the woods behind our home. There are at least 5 of them. They are bright, move quickly, and can go from 15’ high to 3’ in a blink. It isn’t people and they give me an ominous feeling. They have tried to lure our dog and us into the woods even as early as 4 am right before I leave for work but we stay away. We flash lights at them and they flash back. That’s what I meant by lure. And they will come from a couple hundred feet away to within 15 feet of the wood line. We haven’t seen anything but the light which is bright. We’ve seen a few orange, one white, and one light green. Was actually thinking of going in the woods in a minute to walk around before dark. Let me say I am an avid outdoorsman, a fierce conservative, and a large guy. I have had someone tell me about the lights in the sky before and told them they were crazy and dismissed them as fools.

Imo you are right to listen to your gut as you have that ominous feeling. I have been seeing them off and on for 6 years now but it was a daily for over a year. I agree with the “luring” aspect as “they” did that to me and my dog numerous times too. I also flashed lights and tried various other contact means. Whatever these are the6 are clearly everywhere here in states at least by the looks of this comments section. They pose as stars but clearly aren’t. Trust your gut is all I can say.

I’ve seen them. Then when I zoomed in their were multiple alien, creature faces. It was almost like a viewing window of some sort. I just got a video of one and the faces on top of the 167 in puyallup wa. I’m going to buy one of those iPhone monocular telescopes you spoke of. These things are not human.

Hi. This light it is not of a drone at all. First of all. I built drones as part of my research and are part of a team that use drones to make surveys in many countries and places. The pattern flight and movement of this particular light it is inconsistent with the capabilities and flying maneuvers of a drone. Also, this big bright light on a drone it is completely useless. What does a high power night vision camera with infrared capabilities, needs a big bright light for? And if the purpose of the drone is to be in a secretive reconnaissance mission as some people have suggested. Then, why use a big bright light not only to tell every one where the drone is. But also, so that every one can see what the drone is doing? The point is that there is something else to this light and this is not because we are saying so. We say this because of the strange motions beyond the flight capabilities of a drone, that this particular light is doing.

I feel you are correct, but they also have the ability to disguise themselves in different forms from drones to small planes with blinking lights as if they are about to land, bright and dim starts. Including creating cloud cover, among other abilities, like making you think you are looking a hazy or cloudy moon or sun. There follow you, in the day time, too but you cannot detect them due what I explain before, I speak from previous observations over the years. Except now they somehow are making themselves intentionally more visible to more people. I conclude that if they are not drones, then their goal is to intimidate the general population (if they are foreign own), which could be very possible.

Thank you. We have one of these over our area in Saint George utah. Usually about 5 or 6 come out at the start of the evening and can go straight up into the sky and disappear. I pointed one out to a cop and he acted like he couldn’t see it. Maybe he needs glasses. His comment was “ oh that’s just a star”. I just walked away. Cost is somewhere from $13,000 to $44,000. They are very stealthy and smaller ones will land on roofs. They put beacons so small it is naked to the human eye unless you know what to look for. Usually I can catch see the beacon on a roof with a ring cam but it has to be in the right position

Exact movements and when I took a picture it moved back away from us they knew we were taking a picture! 3 minutes later another drone appeared super close getting xloser by the second and following us . It flew above us and quiet asf looked like a mini plane red and green light. They could fly fast asf easily like 50miles in 10-50 secs and I just finished smoking a fat bowl ny heart was racing

I saw the same thing! But In winter park and there were three of them flying around all crazy. I took a video and zoomed up and what I saw looks like a flying circle with 3 other circles rotating inside of it. It was moving the same way you described. Some other weird shit happened too like when I recorded one of them it showed up as a green light in the video but with my eyes I saw yellow light instead of green as I was recording idk what the hell those things are

I just had something similar in my backyard it basically looks like a star .. much closer than a star but at the height and distance that's what it appears as. No colored lights just resembles a ball of white light, it will dim and hover for a while then drop at a fast speed then make some erratic movements and return to its original position.

I just experienced that tonight in PA. Was stargazing with binoculars. Looked identical to a star but moved slowly across the sky pretty low and kept going will I couldn’t see anymore or disappeared. I just spotted one right above my head in the sky.. and I took a video of it. It was so creepy. It was standing still and when I took my phone up to record it moved and when I took my phone down it stopped,and then I started to record it continuously it slowly moved and went to another corner far away and stopped there, and then it slowly moved forward towards where I was standing and then it took speed all of a sudden and flew away .... it was so creepy. I can relate, but are you SURE it's a drone?? I've been seeing weird sh*t at night especially over the summer.. I'd really like to know what the things are that quickly blink alternating from red to white, they are silent and the flashes are VERY bright and it seems as though they fly reaitively close to the ground, my guess is that they are police drones... that's my sense. And idk if police drones take pictures or something?? But on occasion I see a powerful flash coming from these things, a large flash as if a powerful professional photographer was taking a picture . But the thing captured in the video looks like this thing I've been seeing nearly every night this summer... it looks like the biggest, most beautiful star in the sky. I actually thought it was a planet until I payed closer attention to it and noticed it bobbing up and down, or swaying from side to side or moving forward and backward.. and it looked very far away, I believe it is definitely too far to possibly be a drone. And lastly the other object that I've noticed in the sky and is new to me is something that looks like a firefly but it's clearly not a firefly it just looks that way because it's so far away it's as if a star was flying across the sky while slowly blinking, if anyone can tell me what any of these objects are I would greatly appreciate it. I think it's kind of odd that I see them offline right around the same time I'm living in Western Massachusetts, Greenfield Massachusetts which is a part of Franklin County to be exact.

There was a drone last night flying like this over my house last night. Almost look like a star and would bob like this then move sideways and down. Was so fkn odd. I'm seeing these almost every (clear weathered) night in West Virginia with red and white lights flashing. Along with 1 other Bigger "Drone" that's about the size of a small car which can change its shape during flight, this bigger drone has 4 bright lights that can change and contort during flight. It flew above me one night with the lights facing downward then turned side ways forming 1 solid BRIGHT flashing light. I've noticed there are green lights towards its back end (when viewed from a distance) too. When it flew above me it sounded like a vehicle from the Jetsons, from underneath it seemed diamond shaped with 4 white lights (one on each end of its diamond shape) and what seemed like a green light in the center with white lines drawing from the white lights towards its center. I still have NO IDEA what this actually may be? I saw it AGAIN tonight!

They will literally watch for when I turn this off and head back up towards the house and fly towards me to see what I’m doing. It’s the weirdest damn thing. If I use a regular flashlight they don’t seem to notice me as much but since I use a military grade one they definitely pick up on me. At first I thought they were out spotting deer. Nope... Same here in Massachusetts.. I got home from work one night and noticed one hovering across the street from my balcony, so I flicked it off, bcuuuuuz it seemed like the right thing to do.. I could tell by the way it moved (like in your video) that it wasn't a plane or helicopter.. so whats left? Mad creepy.. after that day, I had one fly in tandem with me to the grocery store and it came to a stop right over the top of the store where I parked.. I pointed to the American flag i was parked next to, pointed at it and did a thumbs down sign and went in the store. I dont know what they are or who they're up there by but ive taken pictures of some sitting stationary during the day.. and in this city, there are no stars (too much light pollution) and there are certainly no stars at 4 pm when its still daylight going into dusk. AJ Grant yes I’m Well aware of normal drone behavior and characteristics. What I saw requested my and chased just like a few of people in Colorado was not normal. Without going into more details I’ll state again that this began at least 3 years ago and I’ve personally experienced in Seattle but more importantly in the literal middle of nowhere of Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. And no they weren’t “normal” nor are these recent reports. I’m just mind blown that it’s taken so long to hear about these in a mainstream way. Not normal.

And not all police have ignored them as I’ve seen multiple interviews with them where they express their concerns about their size, speed, ability to stay in air hours, formations and fact that residents are threatening to shoot them down. Again for each their own and I’ve learned 3 years ago that most people wouldn’t recognize massive abnormalities if it hit them in their face. Looks eerily similar to something I experienced in 2012. It was an orangish-gold that eventually turned into 3 red dots that formed a perfect triangle--it flew slowly over my house. In this video it almost appears that the nose of the craft is facing us. Notice how each "side" wing red dot is fading in and out, because parts of the craft are blocking the lights from view.

I have witnessed something VERY similar about a week ago! This is so frustrating. I keep seeing a military drone fly over my house at around 4 am. Im talking about the big ones with the large wingspan that are supposed to be so high up you cant see them. I keep finding videos of these little drones that im NOT searching for. I cant find anything online about other people seeing these drones either and its really creepy. I've been dealing with these the past 6 days. It would stay still when I shone a light on it and go beserk when I shone a light on myself. First 5 nights it was one, than 3 on the 6th. The second night, I snuck out on my deck with the lights off(after I was just outside screwing with it) and it was inching closer and closer to my treeline until someone turned on my deck light. It instantly stopped. Sometimes I can briefly see it's silhouette and it's a lot bigger than it lets on. Mine are out from 8:30PM to 3am. Never goes down for a recharge during that time so it's not consumer grade.

We have many here in Texas. I do security on a gated community and watched two come down side by side and over my head low enough I could have thrown something and hit them. Have filmed them for 2 years especially over the refinery I was at. They do seem to know when I am taking pictures as they tend to relocate I think it's other worldly LOL. Theyre in castle rock just south of Denver now too. Ive seen them all over the city at night. They hover just above the building canopy and seem to patrol sectors in a pattern. When I lived in Tohatchi, NM I saw something like this at sundown with my mom. The forestry department was always up to something out there and they were always doing training ops. We'd see helicopters fly to where their training grounds were. I think it's some kind of imaging system to help whoever is piloting them see at night. Probably using infrared. I live in Melbourne Australia and everytime we go into Lockdown, the drones come as soon as our lockdown curfew begins. Our lockdown starts at 9pm and the drones begin to emerge at 9pm. We counted 12 from our backyard the other night. They hover and hardly move and stay there the whole night. The other strange thing is that every night that the drones have been coming, my air purifier is showing really bad quality air. I hope they are not dropping some sort of chemicals on us in the nights. We've been in lockdown for months here and every night our air quality becomes really poor!! The air purifier that we have is quite expensive and is of good quality. So I wonder what really is going on? During the day now, we have planes going over us..the air purifier shows red (which is bad quality air) and then after sometime, it goes back to a normal level. Something is definitely going on. Update: we have since moved from that place to another location. It's now Jan 2022. We still have the drones or whatever they are up there in the sky. But there are so many planes going over us all throughout the day. There was a time when our borders were closed and we were not allowed to travel yet there were planes everywhere..it didn't make any sense. We keep the air purifiers on day and night. They are expensive ones (5 stage). They show a blue when the air is clear. For anyone who is suffering from allergies or respiratory problems, definitely get a good quality air purifier. As it fly me looking like a plane.about 150 feet up.making.zero noise it passed the moon and a silhouette of a smokey trail was behind it. There are some that hover in a stationary position which prob leads to them being regarded as stars, but they sit alone in a sky, that hasn't even gotten dark yet, in a city that you don't normally see very many stars because of light pollution, and they are way too close and bright in reference to normal stars and their distance from the earth. I see these in Florida too but it is a bight orange color that stays lit, and it happens at night. I don't know what it is either. I don't think it is a drone, because I own a DJI phantom and the lights flash when flying which usually on any type of United States FAA regulated aircraft, the lights should be blinking or have some kind of a flash. But this is bright orange light and stays lit. So who knows what it is !?!?! It is not an American aircraft because that is the law under the FAA to have lights that blink.

DJI drones (which are computer controlled and very easy and stable to control) are only about 20 inches. FPV drones (which take skill to fly, meaning if you can't control it you won't even get it in the air) are only about 7 inches. Also all of them use wide angle lens cameras so peeking in windows especially at that height is impossible. So if you're wanting to spy on people you'd have better luck driving down the street and looking in.

I am telling someone about my experiences with these things a few years back. I have so much video evidence. I felt as if it were assigned to me. It was more bold when it started, then became more distant in the sky. This was in NM. Even with all my evidence, to look back now I want to 2nd guess myself. Another reason I feel possible assignment was the fact I had a neighbor at the time that had the same thing flashing that stayed above their home at night. Mine would come closer in when I would go outside. Went wherever I did. It stopped when I stopped. It would stay higher in the sky, until I would go outside then come in closer as I stated. It seemed to move further away from me over time until I stopped seeing it. It has been 3 years now. I went through nearly 3 years of it being around. In the very beginning I had got a few pics and was able to see what I thought could be something inside, but of course the majority of my documentation has been wiped from my google account. I have had it happen to me twice in 5 years. Never had it happen before, and when I say wiped, I mean every email, phone #, pics and videos, my resume, letters of recommendation, important stuff all gone. That was a fear all by itself. @@coldblackice it started out from what I saw, was it was out about 20 ft above the roof of where I lived. When I would go outside, it would come in closer like maybe 15 ft away from me. I don't know how to describe it, because I never could see "it" as in a shape, but close enough that in desperation I tried to swing at it with a broom. It pulled back but never went away. I drove to Wal Mart one night and it stayed with me but further out in the sky a ways out, and once i parked it came down and was above my hood. Yep, i took a pic. What amazed me is that people went about their business not noticing anything. It wasn't big, and the way the light flashed made think it was round. Perhaps baseball size. Driving out of town in NM has a lot of open land, and before the sun set, I see this flashing light come across the plains and stayed to my left and above just in front of my car the entire trip. It did that every trip I took. I moved in the same town, and the sightings of things diminished in a huge way, but the star drone or whatever stuck around for about 2 more years. It seemed to pull way back, and not be as close as it was for the first 8 months. Always there but at a greater distance. I had read that giving it my attention kept it around, so I tried to tune it out, and eventually I stopped seeing it. Now it is rare. I still see things at a distance but my giving it attention doesnt bring it toward me. I don't see it when I travel any more either. I do live near a big military base, and they had a drone training program out there back when this started. This same base is historically known for the famous Eisenhower meeting with aliens in 1954, so I am definitely in a hotbed of reported activity. I found all that out about 3 yrs ago, long after my experience, so I went into mine completely innocent and clueless

Inside edition has an interview with a guy who was caught on a ring cam flying into space on the same day this happened. He denies it saying his camera looped and made it look likehe disappeared. He doesn't disappear thou. He is shot into space with a beam of light. Plus you never see the guys face. Could be anyone doing the interview.

Yup Im seeing this in Woodstock, ON as well,. Almost every night of the week now. Ive seen one flying up close to me 3 times now so far and they look like UAV's. Like the larger ones they'dd fly over a warzone. Not only one of them either but multiple on night I saw over 10. Everytime I take a piture of it it shows up clear ion my camera. I can get video but all it shows is the light. 4 times now I've tried to get a picture when its up close but then my phone suddenly dies (its a brand new phone that nver had that problem before). Very strange.

I just drove from arriba up to Akron then up to the I-76 near atwood. Saw the same green lights seemed like they were following us. I was driving amd kept seeing them in my side mirrors but my GF was to scared to look or take a pic for me. I think they followed us until we got to I-76. This was at 2-4 AM taking back roads to ogalaga. Not going to lie i was starting to get a little WORRIED. One flew really low past my house. They look like the top of a goal post. When they travel one swings back behind the other. They are a good size. There are several flying over Kearney NE every night. It is hard to film them as they are always moving. In the middle of them there is a hinge/ pin.

Seen them the last 3 years working in the oilfield right outside of killdeer. They get very personal and close when you're in the middle of the badlands by yourself. Have had multiple come down atleast 5ft from my pickups windows and just sit there. This all happened after I noticed one following me, so I stopped in the middle of the road and started spotlighting it. It began flying towards me super fast then all of a sudden my truck got swarmed. I freaked out and hauled ass back to town. I have shit tons of video I'll get dug up and make a channel. I don't think they're drones tho. I couldn't see anything besides a glowing light and they had no sound. Shit is super scary

I intentionally was looking for something similar. Im way over here in Malaysia. Tbh, i was on a date, im from a small town, and its a very busy body town, so met a guy and we can't date anywhere visible, so we always stay hidden at my farm at night, it was 2-3 times a week. I never realized this before, but last friday i realized some of the flickering lights are not fireflies, i started to stare at it and realized there's 2 lights kept "flying", unlike the fireflies pattern.this one kept flickering of white light. It was hovering and didn't stop flickering. It was hovering over 2-3 feet, that was in front of us, maybe 20 feet away. And then i started looking at the moon and sometime later i realized there was a same pattern of flickering lights, except this one it was maybe 30-40 feet high,way above our 20 foot palm trees. Except this one was flickering white and red lights, it was hovering over non stop until it disappeared from our view. I didnt take any recording because my phone is shitty to capture that kind of stuff and secondly because i was scared shit of my pants because the place was nowhere it was acres and acres of palm plantation fields. There are few people who lived there and only a few swift birdhouse, of it was a drone the question is why at night secondly ot couldn't be the villagers because non of them would be investing in a drone and i know that because in a town of 3000 people, you will know who have a drone if you ask anyone, which they don't have. Its bugging me and i cant go check it out because i don't have a car and im scared to go back haha

I have these also tear shaped no propellers and silent, about 9 to 12 inches long red or white light at bottom of the it, moves like a hummingbird very stealth, one by each house others top of trees and others higher up moving left to right constantly, one came up to the side of my face one nite when I was on my deck in back which is so high,my deck,I can see tree tops, if they see you staring it will approach you,I stobeb them with my flashlight they don't like it a military man told me to use a laser, 5 and up blue or purple best, will disabble them from user but others I am sure would come and get ya.stay safe.

They are drones. It’s either a private, commercial or law enforcement drones. Many big cities and states have them for awhile now. Especially they will continue to bring out more with different models. Many local news have articles about them being used as surveillance for daytime and overnight . It has some good benefits but also they are very invasive. I get followed too. Also they follow people who notices them. Some look like small planes, some like a bright North Star and some mini drones which follows people. Before many people haven’t noticed them because they were very few of them. Now 2024 they have many more drone pilots and advanced drones to use.
