@@malipi96 i enjoy chasing my board just as well as getting waves, its often when im on the sand that i end up talking to friends who are also chasing their boards. Few people at wedge use a leash. Other people need waves anyway

It's the wedge. It basically breaks on the shore. It isn't half a mile out to sea on a reef or slab. Very different waves, you don't need a leash at wedge, three or four kick paddles through a closeout and your on the shore (more or less I'm down playing it a bit tbh). Where I surf you need a leash, especially when the reefs shelf is sucking dry with 7-8 ft Hawaiian breaking on your head in less than 2 ft of water. Leash still can tangle and strangle but hitting the dry reef is far more dangerous, as is being dragged into the middle of the ocean by hectic currents.
