The headlight etiquette on display here is common in the United Kingdom, as a lot of our main roads require this switch to see if anyone’s around the corner.
@l3gionmusic814

Is this just if your full beams are too bright or do you reckon it should always be done for every corner? I find I should be able to tell if there's a car there if it's pitch black at night even with my full beams on, but maybe it's a good precaution to dip the lights for a second anyway.

Wow i just learned about this channel and I love it already. Just the engine sounds and the camera angle makes it so much better than other car race channels with like 30 cams all along the road and drones, and the camera just keeps changing and you can't see what's happening, this is soooo much better. Keep it up and stay safe 🔥❤️

This was incredible run. I would really advise a spotter though at whatever end of the road you are racing to though. It would decrease the risk so much and would allow the lead driver to not be so occupied with watching for head lights.

Nice run😎wish we had more of these roads in the uk. Ours are very different, there are plenty of good ones but markings are rarely as good though. The most important thing about following for me is never follow the car, follow the road and have the car as a rough guide. I’ve seen too many times where the leading car messes up and the following car does exactly the same thing as they are treating the lead car as the road!

I recently installed 300tw tires (Conti ECS02) on my NC, and frankly the grip is face-melting. It's fine in a very smooth corner, but it takes nothing to get the bump stops in on the action. Seeing just how much more grip you had vs a very well-driven example of my car... it's terrifying. Looking forward to getting suspension to end some of this body roll madness. But, since I'm one of the 3 or 4 American touge enthusiasts who ISN'T in California (gasp), I'll have to spend some money on Blizzaks first, which should temporarily solve the issue of excessive G-forces.

@@revloxe36 wow, impressive gear and it must probably also be quite the challenge to mount such a big camera in the car. Do you use software stabilisation on your videos? @@yannicg I just clamp the camera to my harness bar. Then add another arm from the top of the camera (hot shoe) to the ceiling. Helps to have a stripped car. The a7siii has inbody stabilization. Though great for hand held gitters it's actually what is causing the occasional warble in the footage.

Did tou strip your e36? How much they weight on an average? My e46 coupe m54b30 aluminium block weights 1400kg, which acceptable but on the heavier side. I guess 1200kg e36 would be noticeably nimblier.
@Iakovjp
@Iakovjp Жыл бұрын
A stock E36 328i weights around 50kg less than an E46 328i, so the difference is very minimal, to reach 1200kg in a 6cil E36 you have to strip it and loose a lot of weight with bucket seats and lightweight parts (hood,wheels,exhaust,rear trunk at least)
@SzymonKasperczyk
@SzymonKasperczyk Жыл бұрын
@@Iakovjp yeah, im familiar with stripping the car. Ive got a 800kg honda without ac/powersteering/light parts etc. But making it that much lighter inevitably makes it less comfortable. Even so I was curious how much you could shave off on a bmw since everything in this car is heavier.
@Iakovjp
@Iakovjp Жыл бұрын
@@SzymonKasperczyk Imho you can delete 80kg from an E36 pretty easily. Oem seats weights a lot (bit less then the electric e46 ones but still much, maybe 50 kg both the manual ones), the rear bench seat can be removed in 10 minutes and it weights around 20-25kg. You can throw out another 20kg deleting the spare tire and trunk bits, than lighter wheels, exhaust, and maybe battery. You're gonna end up with a around 1300kg car

Definitely a great example of what tires and suspension for this type of driving can do to help a car since it's 100tw vs a usual summer 300tw but glad to see someone going for it anyways given the disadvantage Also 167hp for the NC not 158hp

@JETZcorp
@JETZcorp Жыл бұрын
@@zalcan3620 I see what's happened. The US-spec NC1 had the higher power from the start, but in other markets like Europe and Australia they were 158 until NC2. Contemporary US reviews of the 2006 NC1 refer to it as being 170hp. Strangely, they DID raise the red line by 500 when they did the forged internals, and the power peak for the NC2 (7000) is higher than the NC1 red line (6800). This all feels like Mandela Effect to me because I distinctly remember Jason Cammisa raving about how much difference the new cams made for NC2.
@zalcan3620
@zalcan3620 Жыл бұрын
@JETZcorp the redline on the NC1 was listed as 500 shorter but having owned a NC1 and tracked it I can tell you stock it would hit fuel cut or its rev limit at well past redline towards 7500. The engines were always able to do it but the internals being stronger probably made them comfortable with raising the redline on the NC2. Also ya I'm guessing for other markets maybe the cats cut some more of the power out, especially towards the headers since swapping those out is one of the best ways to get power out of these engines. Also keep in mind the USDM cars never had the 1.8L models
@JETZcorp
@JETZcorp Жыл бұрын
@@zalcan3620 For what it's worth, my NC2 shows a 7200 red line on the tach but fuel cut is out at 7700. The official Mazda line on the forged internals is they did it for lower NVH.
