This is hwy 99 Northbound into Chico. The Southbound lanes while accessible are going to drag resources away from getting people in the immediate fire zone out of it.

I think the reason of uncontrollable wildfires (besides climate change) is the overdeveloping of housing in CA not meant to house people. It's just a domino effect from house to house trees to trees, dry everything just catching on fire and spreading everywhere. If you build on dry land over hills or forestry areas you and yours are likely going to become victims of either fires or mudslides. I don't remember wildfires being these bad and numerous in past years, but ever since population in CA has been increasing I've notices so have fires and destruction.

Chico is okay. The wind is driving the fire down the Feather River Canyon, towards Oroville. My son lives in Chico. The other one lives in Oroville, but he's at work in Chico right now.
