Why do you call me African Tigress? Strange because I am not African but I declared the other day that the animal no identify with is the tiger, we all have an animal spirit guardian. Does Carnaval express gratitude to the original peoples - the are all descendants of the Arawak, Taino and other ppl of the Caribbean.

I don't know if how long this kind of Carnival will remain sustainable. Just imagine...J'Ouvert with only 2 steelbands on the road!!?? Masqueraders playing mas' to LOUD DJ music (playing the same damm tune over and over) and not a live brass band in sight!?? The mas' is so spread out, you can take a nap during those long gaps between bands!!?? Thanks for the footage African Princess...I know you worked hard to provide coverage to us folks out in "foreign." 🤔
@colinalcala63467 ай бұрын
You can't be for REAL!!😂😂😂. This is in the Woodbrook Party Area sah! You get more pan on the road in POS, Sterlbands pass here earlier on the way to Town, HARDLY at this hour of filming. PS. Where you ever saw a brass band on the road on jouvert morning?? NEVER! STOP being critical without knowledge of the thing please. Get with the program!! Maybe you jealous that you can't be home for Carnival and have to take the snow😂😂😂😂 it's affecting your memory.
@colinalcala63467 ай бұрын
I need to also let you know that statement about "same song over and over" is absolutely NOT TRUE 💯. On the road in almost every band there was a plethora of current and previous Soca being played. Even on the judging stages as you should know the choices for Road March are played from the Current Crop of Soca. So , good kind sir, PLEASE don't make these misguided statements. Maybe you don't know the other selections that are played but DON'T say it's only the same songs being played over and over.

Bro, that pan thing can’t work today, because it’s the same ole tune over and over and over again, and that can’t keep the attention of these young people who’s connected to internet 24/7. I do agree that brass should be incorporated into the jouvert, but this is a whole new era, things change and it’s time to move away from the old ways. That’s how life goes.

Wow... AT.. At first I wanted to switch off fearing that this might have something to do with some strange religion.. Thanks for the brief explanation at the beginning. I am an older man I confess, and I felt a little uncomfortable following every step of the way but hey.. life is fun. There is nothing wrong with having fun. It is healthy.. After all some of the folks there are my age.. As long as they are well-behaved, all is well..

Many years ago the costumes were full bodied beautiful costumes. In the last 20 years the people have switched to these bikini costumes. In time they may switch back.
@dochere-bolelwang7 ай бұрын
I love it the way it is.. Full body clothing is a Western puritanical invention.. which I guess was borrowed from erroneous Jewish/Christian beliefs and ancient Chinese nobles among other things. Long ago we walked around half-naked all of us.. Remember Adam and Eve had only fig leaves to cover the front part.. That's all we need and we must get used to it.. I wonder how sickening it must be to have tight clothes, or loose long robes all around the body 24/7 ?.. I have learned to sleep naked at the bottom and boy.. what a pleasure since I started a few months ago.. I guess if we'd start reducing the clothes we put on, we'll be motivated to lose weight and the earth will be so much better for it..
@islandgirl33307 ай бұрын
YES, in your youth, you had great bandleaders like the George Bailey's, the Saldenah's, etc. Unfortunately, most of them have passed years ago. The youth is now doing their thing. Old folks will not have to watch them much longer. Carnival is no longer the creative, fabulous street theater that it used to be. At least you are learning to accept change. Maybe one day they will realize that they should become creative again, when another island gives them competition.
@dochere-bolelwang7 ай бұрын
I am South African.. I didn't know much about this until the Kenyan content creator featured it extensively.. To me all is fine.. Nothing remains the same forever.. Good if the participants could make it better by aligning it with old-time norms and activities.. But if it can't be done for me the event is still wonderful..
