Or you could be like the RPS and allow Raw Modern & Raw Classic, where knee sleeves and knee wraps are somehow considered the same thing...

I find it's so confusing when Feds do that. Or have two different meets within a meet. "No no no, raw w wraps is CPL, if you want raw with sleeves that's GPC." "But isn't this just one meet?" "Yeah bro, it's CPL Worlds and GPC Nationals at the same time, duh"
@Ian-zc1kr7 жыл бұрын
I was signing up for an IPA meet only to find out that sleeves and 3 meter wraps are considered equivalent in the raw category... like what is this the Eric Lillibridge invitational

This is amazing. You're the only one doing this so we don't have to read an old powerlifting magazine we found in the corner of our powerlifting gym from the 90s.(Literally did in the day). Lol! You're ground breaking guys. Thanks Bryce and Dillon 🥓🥓🖤🖤

Did you ever do a vid explaining why one would want to do Gear Vs Raw? I use to be a Raw lifter and went gear. Of course Gear gets a lot of shit , yes it helps...more so by eliminating variables such as form, weak spots (in my case, like Ryan kennelly, my dead spot on bench is about a half board (1 inch or so off my chest to about a 1 board) squat is mid point (good out of the hole, dead spot mid way and once my knees hit 60 degrees i have power again) Also gear is nice if you want train hard, but work full time lol. I work 11 hours a day, 5 days a week, full time dad. I saw gear as a way to train harder safer. Its a safety net. Great vid as usual. The misconception that you can throw Gear on and lift 300% over Raw lifts still bugs me. Most Raw lifters that try gear maybe see 30-40lbs more. It takes practice, it has its own "groove." ":Well back in the day they didnt need all this crap." ppl fail to realize true separation of Raw and Gear didn't happen until 2008, so all those totals and WRs were from guys lifting Raw with Equipped lifters. Even then, lifters such as Ed Coan even wore Single Ply shirts and Double Ply suits but most hid them under shirts. Times change, techniques get better. Same argument for Arching. "Old school never arched" yep they didnt, now most of em have hamburger for rotator cuffs. I respect it all. Im chasing a 700lbs Equipped bench right now. I always specify EQUIPPED. I give so much credit to Eric Spoto and Larry Wheels, they are freaks. You have to give credit to Mark Bell, Ryan Kennelly and Dave Hoff, equipped or not they lifted insane amounts of weight.

Can you do a break down on training raw vs equipped? The science behind it, what all changes(form, volume, intensity ect) I have competed and lifted both and find it’s two entirely different training regimens and I have to also change a lot on my form from raw to equipped. Thanks!

Loving this series - great idea to help introduce people to the sport! The IPF approved list seems like a good idea in that you get quality control and can curb some abuse, but good grief... definitely a cash grab. In Ottawa it seems all IPF events stick to it religiously as well, which to my understanding isn't actually a requirement unless it is a national level event. With that said, we seem to be getting some USAPL style events here as well, so at least it won't break the bank to go to a first meet!

I'm hoping to. I work with Marc Morris, who is the owner/operator of PolyHealth and author of The Way of the Weigh in which is an e-book written specifically about cutting for a 2hr weigh in and body comp/dieting etc. I wanna have him on the channel to talk about that.

Nope.

In pretty sure elbow sleeves are legal in IPF meets in the squat and the deadlift but not in the benchpress.
