I actually think they COULD have made this work with some tweaks and adjustments. Yes, it should have been Jake the Snake. Yes, there are better ways of "getting back at Austin." Let's just ignore those facts. They could have made it more clear that Stephanie and Linda had worked things out with Austin because Austin had seen Vince's face the week before. More importantly, they should have given McMahon additional reasons to pull off such an elaborate plan.

This is a straight-up classic episode of Raw, if there's one episode I can watch over and over again it's this one... the faces from Vince are straight-goated the whole time he's in the ring.. Also it's kind of funny when you see Stephanie McMahon in her earlier appearances like in this one, you wonder if Triple H was already sizing her up thinking "damn she looks fine as fawwkk,I got to get me some of that" 😅😅

For me, this sounds weird, but I would have chosen Stephanie as the higher power. She faked her kidnapping just to get back at Vince for something personal that happened between them.

Tbf to Bischoff this is probably one of the times when ruining what was happening on the other side was justified. The problem with doing it with Foley was they completely misread what the audience wanted to see and WCW thought nobody cared about Foley when in reality everybody wanted to get behind him
