Just got my Nama2 using John’s code and wow!! I have a Norwalk and omega horizontal auger and this is by far the easiest to use and clean! So glad for your videos that helped me make the decision to purchase the Nama2. I love the Norwalk’s quality of juice and no pulp and love the omega for wheat grass but the Nama was so easy to make a lemon ginger blast- you really can fill it and walk away. As a busy mom I made my daughter apple lemon juice and myself the LGB in record time all while fixing dinner!! Yay- thanks John!!

I love my Greenstar. I got mine prior to the pro, but I upgraded the gears. I’ve been extremely pleased with the Greenstar. At this point I’m hesitant to replace it, even though the other newer one looks great. I have a Slowstar as well, but again because of cost to replace I’m keeping mine. I do like the ager that appears much like the Slowstar. I think the new juicer looks like a lot more capacity and perhaps better to clean. At 78 I think unless my present ones fail I will keep. That said, I think you are very trustworthy and people can rely on the information you provide. The quality of the Greenstar is excellent. The attractive thing about the Nama is the extra capacity and performance. I find having one of each type increases the variety of what I can produce. Love the Greenstar for making nut butters. All the juicers I’ve gotten from you are dependable and are long lasting so I can testify to the trust worthy information you provide.

Great video John. We first bought the Tribest Slowstar, then the Greenstar. Then the NAMA J2. We like them all for different reasons, as John has pointed out in his many great videos. With that said, We love our NAMA J2 for soft fruits, like pineapple, grapes, berries and melons, that the GS will not do easily. We find the GS generates ALOT of foam when juicing greens like kale and spinach. For root vegetables, nothing compares to the GS. In our tests, 1000 g of carrots yielded 15.1 oz juice in the GS and 14 oz juice in the NAMA J2. Our yield weighed/volume % in the GS was 45% and the NAMA J2 was 41.4%. We plan to keep all three juicers plus our Blendtec Vacuum Blender, which produces way more juice than any juicer, except carrots, and involves pre-historic manual squeezing. Look forward to John's future juicer reviews, as always. Thanks John.

In my 25 plus years of juicing Quality of juice by far goes to the greenstar pro. Convenient and easier to use and clean goes to Nama but sacrifices quality over the greenstar. So,if you have time and have a strong arm get the greenstar if not get the Nama.

The way I understand it there is intracellular water and extracellular water in organic matter. The gears in the Greenstar are machined to a very tight tolerance which grinds more and breaks the cell walls of the plant material releasing this intracellular water. I had the original twin gear 25 years ago and I missed it when my ex-girlfriend took it after the split. I'm now using the omega single auger. I remember the twin gears like hard root type vegetables and of course wheat grass. If you can afford it buy both.

I love the Greenstar but if I had to pick for the price today I would go with the NAMA. You can exercise or dance while you wait for the juice ! something other juices lack which I feel is the future of juicing. Greenstar will always be a legend though. As with the nutrition I feel its no more than 10% better. NAMA is still new so It will be Impressive to last as long as the Greenstar Elite. GSE will be hard to beat, its only surpassed by the very expensive Angel juicer, if only they made a Greenstar NAMA style juicer with twin gears :D Nice video.

I now have both of theses juicers and the Nama J2 in my opinion out performs the GreenStar Pro. I have been juicing for 25 years and have had six different juicers between centrifugal and slow masticating and when I say Nama J2 has changed my attitude towards juicing, I can go on and on to stress my appreciation for the design, the cleaning, the quality of juice and the assembly which is by far a game changer. The science John speaks about concerning the GreenStar sounds impressive but that scraping tool is cumbersome and the twin gears over time oxidizes and looks unappealing to me. The pulp residue around the body is difficult to clean. I use baking soda to keep it clean and sanitized but frankly I don’t want to go through all that. The green star creates so much foam from the leafy greens which is very important in my Gerson regiment and in my opinion, the juice from the Nama J2 has a better yield and replicates the quality I experienced at Gerson.

I love my twingear. The best 2 on the market are the Greenstar or the Angel (Super Angel in the US). The Super Angel cost more, but it is so much easier to clean. It has way less parts than the Greenstar. If the price of the Super Angel is something that you can consider, I suggest that you research the "Angel" or "Super Angel" twingear. It pays for itself when you consider the highest yields obtained against the use of organic produce at super high prices. Organic Celery at Whole Foods is now $3.69. Almost $4.00 for very poor quality in terms of size this time of year (super tiny stalks...half the normal size). Good luck on your juicing journey!

@@livlifluvI find cleaning more difficult on the Angel compared to the Greenstar Pro Yes there are less parts but I find there are parts more difficult to clean than the Greenstar Pro. Greenstar Pro, housing, adjustment knob, inner chute are all a quick rinse. Pulp ejection part blast of water and some scrubbing needed and the same with the gears. The screen takes a little time but it is easy to get completely clean and the motor unit I use a spray bottle to clean it quickly. The Angel, splash guard takes seconds, gears a blast of water and some scrubbing. The housing with screen to get as clean as possible I find a bit of a pain even with the correct technique and brushes. There are so many awkward little areas to get to and you really need to be rigorous to get all tiny the holes cleared. I also find the motor unit more difficult to clean, pulp drops into the clamp when cleaning and it's a pain to get to. I find all in all it takes me the same if not longer to clean the Angel properly.

@@bodhialvasao8897 Hello. I'm a longtime Juicer. I've owned most types from Jack Lalaine, Juiceman, Omega Horizontals (2), their Vertical VSJ843, Tribest Vertical Slowstar, etc. You get the picture. Lol. My refusal to clean excessive parts is a personal choice. I prefer allocating my time towards shopping for ingredients & juicing them. I have other vital responsibilities so time is an asset. I now own Super Angel, The Pure Juicer, & Sana 727. I'm good. I prefer slow juicers that yield the highest juice quantities, the best tastes, & finally fast "thorough" cleaning. The latest sensation is Bulk juicing with the Nama. Nama is a great time saver but it doesn't beat Super Angel, the Pure, or Sana 727 with taste, amount yields (Super Angel, The PURE) & possibly nutritional yields. I'm consistent to what's important to me. Quick cleaning time is a must. Notice my current 3 juicers meet that standard.

I don't own either but I can imagine seeing Green Star Pro as the dumbbells I used a lot when I first bought but now sit in the corner of my dorm for 2 months at a time without use. I know eventually I'll get lazy to juice every single/other day with the Green star. Something about the Nama J2 just feels like a privilege to own, it's almost like having a personal chef to prepare your meal with the walk away technology. If I was concerned about Beta-carotene and nutrients I'll just incorporate regular cut up or cooked veggies into my meals and all should be well. Hi John, thank you very much for all your helpful and educative videos. I have a question for you. Let's say I own both a Tribest Green Star Pro and a Tribest Dynapro DPS-2250. What if I put all the ingredients I want in the Green Star Pro first and then pass the produced juice to the Dynapro? That way I get all the benefits of the Green Star twin gear juicing and take the oxygen out of the juice using the vacuum blender without the need for a nut milk bag. Let's suppose that the time spent in this whole process is not an issue (including the process of cutting the ingredients for the juicer, blending the juice and cleaning both appliances). Since Dynapro has a large capacity, I could go ahead and make a large amount of juice that way and store it into vacuum seal containers in the fridge. What is your expert opinion about this idea?
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 11 ай бұрын
There are pros and cons to both juicing and blending. If the highest quality juice is desired, I would just use the vacuum blender and omit the green star pro. If you don't use a nut milk bag, you will have a smoothie instead of a juice, and it will contain more fiber which will mean you may not absorb as much nutrition since fiber can hinder absorption of nutrients based on studies I have seen. Of course, fiber is also necessary for us and our microbiome. So best is to juice sometimes and make vacuum blended smoothies sometimes. I make 5-7 quarts at a time and store in the fridge under vacuum every week.

Hi John, found your site while researching juicers and have subscribed! Thank you for your content. Have you any experience / feedback regarding the gear that runs/ turns the auger in the Nama J2? This gear, the Acetal Gear, wore out quickly and tremendously in my older Omega where the juicer was then a brick and not able to work. I am desperately trying to find the best (medium) range juicer to which replace the old Omega (VRT350) juicer AND not have the same future headache of the gear being worn down after one juicing of leafy greens. Any comments on this issue with similar vertical juicers like Nama J2 or Hurom or the new Omega Batch Juicers? I appreciate any feedback.
@discountjuicers
@discountjuicers 11 ай бұрын
The gear in the original VRT350 is made of GE ULTEM, as it was revolutionary at the time. Nowadays, most Korean-made auger juicers use this same material. The VRT350 was one of the ORIGINAL designs in vertical juicers that was originally released in 2009. Since that time, the juicers have improved. I know they still use the SAME material to make the augers, although I would suspect the exact contents of the plastic have improved since then. I have not seen any significant wear on my nama j2 juicer myself. Should any parts on the Nama J2 wear out due to no fault of your own, it should be covered under the 15-year warranty that is included with the juicer. I have used the Nama J2 the most, and have not used the newer hurom/omega batch juicer as much, but they also use the same gear material.

The twin gear will extract more nutrition overall over the auger juicer of the 727. The 727 will be much easier to clean, so it really depends on the factors that are most important to you.

My evolution of juicers, 3 cheap spinning baskets, around $50, Champion $200, GreenStar $400, and then two Omega's, N800 and NC900 around $400 or less. Would have liked a Norwalk. For some reason, I'm not really attracted to vertical juicers.

I wonder if u used the coarse screen on the nama if it would get more nutrients in the juice. Might be a little more comparable to the nutrients the other juicer makes with its fine screen and with the nama being easier to clean that might tip the scales and make the nama the winner. Of course I'm rooting for the nama cause I own one lol. Nama is also cheaper

While the coarse screen would likely get more nutrients (and fiber) in the juice, the limiting factor IMO is the grinding capability of the juicer, the twin gears just grind up to a finer particle size, releasing more nutrients. I have spoke with the Nama CEO about this and I believe he is working on making parts to improve the performance. Cross your fingers.

Why hasn’t Hurom, Kuvings, Omega, or Tribest designed a vertical juicer with a hybrid auger? By hybrid auger, I mean a two-layer auger with an inner plastic core and a stainless steel surface layer. With a hybrid auger turning against a stainless steel filter-screen, one could build a vertical juicer whose nutritional output would likely rival the twin gear juicers.

ME TOO. tried to sell on FB marketplace and was only offered $100 once which wasnt worth it to me to part with. i have grown to hate my greenstar pro it is so daunting to clean and so cumbersome to get out and use. it takes me forever to clean even when i am moving fast so many nooks and crannies. are you a lot happier with the nama? it's on my list to buy one day soon!

I bought the pink pump you recommended but it’s not getting any suction after a month or two. It’s not sucking in air it seems loose

I noticed the hydraulic grease wears out over time, so buy some and lube up the gasket inside the pump, so a better seal is made.

Is there a twin gear juicer that’s hands free like the Nama?

The only hopper style juicers at this time are vertical auger juicers. I have seen pictures of a smaller horizonal hopper style juicer from China but no twin gears or other styles at this point. I do hope other companies make them!

Which other juicers have stainless steel grinders like Tribest juicer?
@bodhialvasao8897
@bodhialvasao8897 8 ай бұрын
In north america consumer market, the only brands that offer great cold pressed juicer with stainless steel grinders (aka. twin gear) are Tribest and Angel, Angel is very high quality and its entire housing and food-contacting parts use s.steel so it’s extremely durable when coupled with good care, it’s buy-it-for-life but very expensive. Tribest is great too. Omega has a s.steel model but that unit has major engieering flaws.

these comparisons are actually irrelevant, because its impossible to distinguish the amount of non soluble in each piece of produce. you can weight out produce to the same measurements, but it doesnt account for one having more juice and another having more fiber... complete nonsense.
