Thank you for taking us on a wild and scenic canoe trip into such beautiful country. Those waterfalls were gorgeous.

This was my favorite video so far. You always do such a wonderful job filming…and loved learning how you navigate issues I could encounter in the future. Thank you! Also the “stuff conundrum” story of my life 😂

@Apeaceofthewoods Thank you, Woodsy, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Avenza app and downloaded maps are a great tool, although this trip they set me up for issues. The printed map ended up having the correct info. Live and learn. Even as I write this, I'm stuffing too much stuff into my pack again. I like that false sense of security.

Very impressive opener. You hooked me, lol. It's good to see that even the best layed out plan can sometimes go ary so we have to be prepared to adapt and change a plan is needed. You didn't give up either. You are very encouraging and inspiring. Loved seeing the pudding stones, I've never seen one. The things you see on your journeys remind me of how much God created for all of us to enjoy and hear, like the loons. Did you make friends with the red squirrel? Lol, he was funny. Thanks for taking us on another beautiful journey!

@bournetogrill trust me, it was one of the best steaks I've had. I needed it bad. Thanks for watching.

Oh man, that is a tough way to start a trip by taking a wrong turn. But, nice recovery. On longer and more challenging trips, I find that it always takes a day or two to find my legs - especially after the long first day of travel. Steak and beer on night one always helps though! Nice little fish fry set up btw … Seems like you have many more tripping years ahead of you - but, yeah, lighten the load and your knees will thank you. It is a constant struggle! Great vid! Cheers!

Yep. Enjoy the fact that you still are quite fit and doing a lot more than many folks half your age. Reminds me of when I finished surfing the other day and when I was walking up the substantial hill on the way out a young man behind me commented that it must be tiresome doing so after finishing surfing as he hadn’t and was still getting tired. I said “It keeps you in shape, however 30 years ago when I finished surfing I would run that hill for additional exercise” . Not interested in doing that now 😂

@bigkemna87 Thanks. I felt pretty beat up at the start of that trip. By the time I had to leave, I felt great and wanted to stay. It still was a great trip. The silence and solitude up there was amazing.

Great video. It’s on our list of destinations. It is an area that is beautiful, but not overly travelled. Which is ok with me.

@canada5691 thank you. I went in the 3rd week of September and was alone on the lakes. The solitude and scenery was amazing

@ I highly recommend the Dunlop - Mace loop in the same area. We did it this May. It was cold, but pretty easy portages, and beautiful scenery. Normally excellent Lake, Brook and Splake fishing.

Nice video, I'm in Elliot Lake so I think of the area as my backyard. Great video footage, and nice visit to Puddingstone falls. There is another seldom used portage from Mount Lake to Grey Trout Lake that skips Rottier Lake.

@eltrippers thanks. Good info to know. I trusted my digital maps too much. I'm looking forward to going there again and making it to Sister Lakes and maybe even Book Lake.

@eltrippers you are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful area. There is so much to see and do there. I wish I had more free time to explore it. Have you ever been to the Skunk Creek Falls NE of McElrea Lake?
@eltrippers2 ай бұрын
@@p3outdoors I have paddled McElrea but not Skunk Creek. Mayfield Lake that can be paddled to from Mount Lake is a little hidden gem.
@p3outdoors2 ай бұрын
@@eltrippers I was heading towards Mayfield via (what my map called) the Portelance River when I started getting rained out. Sorry I missed it. Thank you for the tip. Maybe next time.
