Creo sin lugar a equivocarme barreto inicio en el jazz Americano , luego paso a las bandas de tito puente y otros exponentes de lamusica latina , mas adelante empieza su lugar en la descarga y charanga ....pasa al sonido poderoso de la salsa y Fania ...un paso mas adelante salsa con un toque romantico y luego hace trabajos importantes en el jazz para finalizar ..

dos o tres anos antes de esta edicion.barretto hiso una presentacion en miami,fl..en la cual yo estaba .barreto hiso una expresion ,que "la salsa estaba muerta".Hoy en dia la salsa esta mas viva que nunca,gracias a la nacion combiana,
