Good afternoon! I do love this song really. He does an extreme effort to convince her to stay to spend her night with him. She looks like she is interested. But never it is clear if she have accept it. I like when Ray says :"Betty it is cold outside" in stead of :Baby it is...". But the sigh at the end makes us believe that she have made a deal with him.

And over and over in you mind, you just keep thinking "that one doesn't need to exist...nope, that one neither...naw...naw..." I mean, James Taylor as "the wolf"? Anne Murray as "the mouse"? No thanks. You need some basic equipment to inhabit these roles--not only vocal chops, but some acting chops, some swagger (for the pursuer), and some serious flirtatiousness (for the pursued). Ray and Betty have the chemistry. A few other versions get honorable mention. Most miss the boat by 50 nautical miles.
