Ray Philip, a man of character, a man blessed with wisdom, and how I adored him, pity that I could not shake his hand.

The great Ray Phiri. I had the great privilage to watch him play in my country when he came to Zim on the Harare leg of the all conquering Graceland World Tour (1987) with other heavy weights like Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Joseph Tshabalala and Paul Simon. Now only Paul Simon is the last man standing of the 5 giants. May Uncle Ray's soul forever rest in power (peace.)

The manner this old man played a guitar equals and is a reminder of how the reggae leader, Peter Tosh strummed. Must I also go on to their originality in wisdom about their Afrikanness and its upliftment? One finds what Peter's response to anything that one who thinks superior than Afrikanz that there's a lot they don't understand about the toughness Afrikanz are able to make the world go round.
