Yeah, growing up the 60's and 70's, I loved the "Big Bands" of the 40's, but always found Ray Conniff and his Singers to be a little to "Elevator Music-ish" for my tastes, although I did appreciate their Christmas tunes. Watching this, I have a better appreciation for what they were about.

he was 86 when he fell and hit his head on the sink.... its PLAUSIBLE that being 86 he had balance issues. it would be nice if everyone got to live as long as they wanted but 86 years is an impressively long life for anyone born in 1916

Ever since I was already a fan of Ray Coniff and his Singers. How happy and joyous I was to get the last tape of his songs for my cassette. But I felt so sad and lonely when this sort was phased out and I could no longer hear the songs. Thanks to the KZbin, I now hear all his songs in concerts. Ray as a leader of the group is great as a musician. I enjoy viewing him and the group. No other group like this ever but he and the group is one and only. All the songs are heavenly and worth treasuring in every one's heart and soul. Long live Ray and all others!!!!!

Quien puede decir algo después de escuchar esos mágicos sonidos de los vientos y coros bajo la mano del desaparecido maestro Ray Coniff. Sus arreglos son imitados pero jamás igualados; dentro de su personalidad brillaba su encanto, simpatía y sencillez que llevó a todo el orbe. Como se extraña su persona como musico y ser humano. El privilegio de Chile fue tenerlo en el Festival de Viña del Mar hace unas décadas y nos maravillamos con su magia sintiendo erizar la piel en cada nota y tema, gracias por subir estas imágenes llenas de vida y amor por la música. Son las oportunidades que podemos unirnos con lo clásico y lo popular y porque no decir también los corazones de quiénes nos sentimos plenos con cada nota musical.
