When it is at F1 (focus 1) I think it is supposed to be virtual and upright. Over here it has been mentioned that the Image is real and inverted. Also the image at Focus 1 is on the same side as object.

No C is not identical as F2. The C is the geometric center of the curved side of the lens. The focal length of a lens is not fixed. It depends upon the medium in which lens is placed. Example if lens is kept in air then it has a different focal length and if the lens is kept in water then it's focal length increases. Thus changing the position of F1 and F2.
