Speaking as someone from Boston, let me just say that Jon Voight’s accent here is like 100% spot-on. And Boston accents aren’t that easy to imitate accurately. Most people rely too much on the stereotypes, while the real accent is much more subtle.

I just started watching Ray Donovan, when I discovered Jon Voight was involved with project. So far, he has tongue in cheek brought back some old characters that he was famous for. The famous epic film Runaway Train which he should have won an academy award for best actor as a convict. Midnight Cowboy as the vulnerable clueless character. These two characters are coming out in all the episodes. The episode wearing the cowboy costume resembles his attire in Midnight Cowboy and then he is forced to exchange sex for a ride to LA. as his gigolo character in Midnight Cowboy. The director must be a big fan of the old classic Voight films.
