I like Bear but I'm a huge fan of Ray. But I get Ray's point. It would be suicidal for the average lost camper to follow Bear's advice. And Ray believes that Bear is very irresponsible for that. However, the true outdoorsman in me can't get enough of Ray's advice, but I still love the adventure and enthusiasm Bear brings. Bear makes me want to get out there again. Knowing Ray's tips. Are we really responsible for all the idiots who copy us. If so then there are far more TV shows to be banned before we get to Bear. Bear is the real deal, adventure wise. Ray is the world's premier outdoorsman.

@@sjdover69exactly. Ray is the man to copy if your wandering way out in the middle of no where. Ray is who you watch to learn from and respect nature. Bear is what you watch for a bit of a laugh and entertainment. We all know Bear was caught being a fake sleeping in hotels, catching wild horses lol…… Ray is the original….

I almost bought a Ray Mears Citizen watch the other day. It's a clunker! Huge, heavy, stainless. Yes, it tells the time, AND if you want all your friends to know you've got $300 bucks to throw around, buy this one! But you can get a decent G-Shock for $45 bucks and it will be just as tough.

Not all all. Ray is the expert bushcraft survival expert knowledge database. Bear is just running wild… Bear relates to the younger audience, while Ray has always appealed to those who respect nature and survival. Ray was on TV long before Bear, just different styles that don’t compliment one another.
